Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance has a long, but fun and interesting story. Fans who are familiar to the Fire Emblem series will feel right at home with this game since many of the great features that made the previous games so good intact. Your characters still only have one life (if they're killed, they're gone for good.), there are more choices between which characters you can recruit, and there are also some new units. In terms of overall gameplay, there are few disappointments since the story is so good. However, from a technical standpoint, the graphics and sound are average. Since this on a console there should be more cutscenes, better and more diverse battles, and exciting music to go along with it. It almost feels as if it could have been put on the Gameboy Advance or the DS, but it was put on the Gamecube instead to revive the series and freshen the graphics. Another disappointment is the loss of multiplayer and the arena battles. Although the development of your characters is great; what good is developing them if all they can do is hack and slash soldiers and thieves? Being able to fight for money and battling your friends is what also made the GBA series so well. But despite these small holes in gameplay, the story will keep players so enthralled, they won't even notice those features are missing.
