Pros (for FPW veterans): ITS FIRE PRO IN ENGLISH! Larger Wrestlers. Updated older moves. Great "new" moves.
Pros (for FPW newbies):327 DIFFERENT wrestlers, shoot fighters and mixed martial artists. All wrestlers have AT LEAST 16 MOVES (not including strikes), with the VAST majority having 25 moves, give or take a move or 2. CAW system is (STILL) the best one on ANY wrestling game, 2D or 3D. AI is tough but not cheap. Wrestlers use a complex logic system that has them act like there real life counter parts. (hogan wont open ANY match with a leg drop!)
Cons:SOLD OUT EVERYWHERE! no story mode or victory road >:( CRITICAL!! is no longer in large red letters. (Yeah im nit picking, but I cant find anything "wrong" with this game. Manual barely scratches the surface of the control. No online component at all.
PS,....NO! the graphics arent a Con,...they are part of Fire pro's long running charm. Plus any other graphic format would mean longer load times, slower pace of action, math errors (ever had a 3D game visuals or sound glitch? No Mercy any one?) and,...the worst of all in a wrestling game,...COLLISION DETECTION issues.
Been a fan of this series since the super fami era. Same formula with many welcome additionsin the form of moves, reversals and match modes. Steel case, barbed wire, electrified exploding rings (Cactus Jack, Terry Funk, Onita are a BLAST in these matches!) I love the fact that it has always been about timing your button presses versus pressing your buttons a lot of times. The overwhelming size of the roster means give a ton of replay value to a $15 game ($20 from gamestop, if you can find it that is) >:(
To sum it up Fire ProWrestling Returns is a great game at a great price that you will be playing FOREVER.
