It's a sleeper, and well worth it!
FPW: Returns feels like an old school game from the SNES/Genesis era, where gameplay was the most important thing. That is exactly what you get here let me tell you that. It's not easy to just come out and start winning like mad. The game makes it a challenge without being too discouraging. While I did just get it, my brother and I had fun with it and we especially split our series 3 to 3 with the tie breaker coming later on.
Most of the wrestlers in the game are Japanese wrestlers that we don't know, but there are some that are wrestlers that we know, but due to trademarks they changed their names. These wrestlers include;
Scott Hall
Kevin Nash
Sting
Bret Hart
Andre The Giant
Rikishi
Terry Funk
Abdullah The Butcher
I do believe there are others, I just can't recognize them. I would think one may be Chris Benoit, or the Dynamite Kid.
You can edit the names however to make them how you want them. YOu just have to really try to adjust it the way you want it. They also have if you really like, a nice model of Scott Norton from WCW.
They have alot of good match options, they even have referees that have their own different styles and personalities.
The only thing that really bugs me is that you have to make your own titles and have them competed in standard matches. While I haven't tried all of the options YET, so far that's my only problem. However, the fact you can make your own titles is definately awesome. Just an FYI, Sting is my World Champion.
If you like the old school feel of wrestling games, and an alternative to SvR then go with FPW: Returns.
Unfortunately I paid $20 for it. When I heard it was only $15 I felt a bit slighted. Thank you very much Game Stop!!!
