Yeah, it looks great! But is it a game?

I am all for entertainment that goes outside the normal convention, and while I did enjoy Flower, I feel i spent to much time feeling like I was missing something. I would finish a level and think to myself, that couldn't have been it....and so i would go back and play the level over, looking for something more.

I know some of you are saying: "But Eric, look at all the Trophies you can get, why not go after them?". And yeah, I could hunker down and bloom 10,000 Flowers, but that's not game play, that's just the same thing over and over until my eyes bleed. Flower finally started getting interesting on the Water and Lightning Level....and then after that is the City, and then the game ends.....it felt like 4 levels of tutorials and then 2 levels of game....I guess I was just expecting more, when I shouldn't have.

The bottom line is what you see is what you get. Its very pretty, enjoyable music, fun, simple, non-threatening (until level 5 there is some threat of burning your petals) You fly around, you gather flower petals, and for the most part are led by the hand in what you should be doing next.

Its an exploration game that they don't really let you explore, because they show you what to do next. And its not really game because there is no challenge, given enough time you will just stumble on the end of the level.
