Official TINAU Admin Thread

I would like to take this moment to congratulate all members and officers of TINAU. We are turning into a cool group of people. One thing we need, is make sure everyone is getting the most out of TINAU. This thread, I hope ;), is where we can deal with administration issues and comments. I hope that I and the other officers and responsible members can post progress reports and other misc admin stuff here.

The first thing I'd like to post is the efforts MCM and I are making in response to questions about becoming officers. I agree that we need some general guidelines in this area. WF has been unavailable lately but no worries we all can handle what needs to be done.

Several officers have been MIA, hopefully some will get stuff sorted out and will return ASAP. I sent this message to some of the officers:

"Michael theCM and I are trying to get activity back up at TINAU. We want to have all the officers active. If you feel like you cant perform the duties of an officer anymore PM Whiteflame and let him know. We're going to give all the officers two weeks to contact us. Thanks for your help!"

Suggestions for guidelines and improvements are welcome. And no we're not getting structure here at TINAU we are trying to have some fun!

I would like to talk about officer guidelines. I recommended k_smooth as an officer to WF and I said ur ok with it mcm. The reasons that qualify k_smooth as an officer is #1 his activity, #2 his awesomeness, #3 he has balls.

People come and go on GS all the time even officers. So I was thinking that if an officer hasn't posted on here or pm'd anyone as to why, they should be replaced with a qualified active member. Any thoughts?

Good point. So if an officer hasn't been active for a specific amount of time, then they should be demoted. Replacement is up to the leader, WF .

The nice thing about demotions is that the person still is a member. Maybe they can come back and be an officer again :).

I would like everyone who deserves it to be an officer :). Did you consult anyone before you pm'd WF? He gets kind-of irritated sometimes. Believe me I know ;).comradex

1-3 months!?!?! wow thats really long! i was thinking maybe 2 -3 weeks (unless they notify WF with a really good reason)

I was just throwing some numbers out there. I was thinking about the time WF's dad didn't want him on here and he was gone for a long time. 3 weeks sounds good. People should pm the leader if their going to be gone longer than that. Unless its a disaster or something.

Your not a admin, short for administration ;). Yes if the button said "Join" then you hadn't joined the union. I'll look to see if you joined today. Feel free to post admin questions and comments here any time epayps. We're not like other unions that have those officer only clubs or meetings!

i guess this thread about covers it. demotion for officers should be absolutely no activity for 2 weeks with no warning or message to any of us telling us in advance. if an officer is away for 2 months but sends us a PM or whatever saying that then its all cool still.grafkhun

Two weeks of no activity sounds fair, but I think they should be warned at least once in an official pm. We should follow principles and not adhere strictly to rules. Necessity should be tempered with kindness in my opinion.

So here is the proposal: An officer that is inactive for two weeks, without contacting the leader or other officer beforehand, should be sent an official message informing them of their pending demotion and asking them to resume activity.

Sound good?

i would like to see a rule that if a person gets 3 or more notifications (PM's) they should be demoted b/c that means they are not contributing enough

I guess so. But it could be used as an excuse to get rid of someone in the future. If three pms are sent, as in the scenirio above, the leader and most of the officers would have to agree that the person is not pulling their weight. That way a powercrazy person cant just send three pms and get someone kicked out. Im being paranoid but its possible. comradex

Treeman over a CW has "special" emblems for his union. What does everyone think about that? Should we do something like that?comradex

That's funny, I got promoted at the start of two days of not being able to get on the net. Anyway, what if somebody goes on a two week vacation? I've done that before b/c it was to another country across the Atlantic.Bakalou
