The game is called guess the screenshot and the way it works is simple.

A screenshot from a video game is displayed and everybody else has to guess what game they think it is. Whoever gets the game correct first, gains 1 point and they then must post a new screenshot from a game of their choice.

There are only a few rules,

•1) The game has to be a retail game from any era of gaming. It can also be an Xbox Live Arcade or Playstation 3 store game, but no Indie or flash games as they are usually to obscure.

•2) If the game is a sequel, then the sequel number must also be given.

To start the ball rolling, here is the first screenshot! Good luck!

That is a good point, it is a bit of an older game, maybe I should have picked a newer one first. I'll give it a couple more hours and if no gets it I'll post a new shot.

Since the starting screenshot might be a tad hard, I have posted a new screenshot from a more modern game to help get things moving.

My nephew watches old Disney movies on VHS and I'm pretty sure I've seen an ad for that game on one of them...

I think it has the kid's name in the title...I can't remember!

I played that years ago at an arcade, I think it was called 'Jurassic Rage'.

Oh, and yes the first screenshot is 'Super Hang On' off the Mega Drive/Genesis. I had it as part of the Mega Games 1 collection!

Here's a hint: in the game you had to build a base to do research and manage resources and you also had to fight aliens in turn-based combat. 

The first part of the game was released in 1993.
