New squad members

What does everyone think of the new squad members that we will meet throughout the duration of Mass Effect 2? So far confirmed is Thane a character who species is the Drell, Miranda and Jacob both humans.

In my opinion I can't imagine any of them taking over the characters that were Wrex and Garrus who both provided comic relief while being absolute bad a$$ characters, the idea of more humans sounds like a plan for more relationship strands which seems that bioware are just out to score points. As for Thane although he looks like he will be a good character I feel he is going to threaten what we all enjoyed with Wrex and Garrus in order to introduce new gamers to the series.

From what I have seen most of them will return, so long as they are alive. I just want my Wrex and Garrus combo to live on throughout the series.

Unfortunately many people would have not had the charm or intimidation skills to persuade Wrex on virmire and as a result he is probably dead for them. I also think that in the ME default choices I think Wrex will be dead.

I hope Wrex comes back but we will have to wait and see.

Any Krogan follower would be pretty cool. They'd probably have the same mindset to Wrex anywaydahui58

It would be redundant to have another anti-hero krogan follower and not be wrex.

This thread was about the old/new characters from ME1 to ME2, and I was wondering how much of todays prespective is applicable to ME2 vs ME3. Just visiting the union from the OLDEST threads to the newest and dredging up old stuff. I just found it interesting for find OLD news that is comparable to todays anticipated release. If that makes sense to you...bearnewman

Well, to begin with I was very glad to learn last summer that all of the original team members from ME2 will reappear in some context in ME3. Weather it will be as an NPC like Wrex was on Tuchanka or as a temporarily playable character like Joker became for a brief period remains a mystery. After it was revealed that ME3 will have a much smaller band of squadmates and that the game will focus on deeper relationships between Shepard and his new team, I began to feel some anxiety about not being able to interact with some of my favorite ME2 squaddies which I guess is a testament to just how good an action RPG ME2 really was. I know she's not everyones favorite but I loves me some Samara.

As to the new characters we'll meet in ME3, until recently James Vega was the only one I'd been aware of and to be honest I've been sort of meh about him even if he is voiced by Freddy Prinze Jr. Ooohhhhh, Freddy Prinze Jr! Didn't he win the Oscar for, ............um............um......wait, nevermind. But a couple of days ago I learned of a new character from the ME3 voice cast video. Diana Allers. I don't know anything about her but I'm suddenly curious to know more.

Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!!! I just need to hurry up and get a new frickin 360!!!
