since shepard seems to have to wear a full pressure helmet to be on the ship i cant see it being too likely

Well, I'm ashamed to say it but I never really used Tali.

She's just not as good in combat as say Kaidan, and he has engineering skills like she does.

And playing as infiltrator you don't really need any of them.

Oh well, we'll see, maybe "she got better" =)
