Several similar threads have popped up here in the last couple days. As I've mentioned in some of those threads, in the past similar issues with the GS video player have been the result of ad blocking. Take a look at any and all ad/content blocking features your browser and system may have.

This problem started for me earlier this week. I am using Firefox. I have checked the cookie settings, and added gamespot.com to the exception list for popups. I do not run the Adblock plug-in. However, if I try to view the same videos in IE, it works fine.

Its definitely not a problem with the ad blocker since its worked perfectly before.

There might be something going on with the GS server most likely.

I was just wondering if anyone knew or had some insight.

Clearing my cache data seemed to fix it. I cleared all my history, cache, cookies, etc,

under chrome's wrench icon->options->under the hood->(privacy)clear browsing data.

Was just about to come here and let people know about this. We're working on a more widespread and elegant solution now, but if you are experiencing the video player issues described here, a cache clear will fix it.

Had the same stuck on the loading bar issue. Clearing the cache didn't work for me, neither did reinstalling the plash player. Here's the thing: the videos don't work for ANY browser on my desktop. And not just gamespot; espn.com videos, for instance, won't load either. But- I have a laptop, same wireless network, same browsers, same version of flash, and it plays them no problem. Both computers are on Windows XP, and have ATI video cards. Any ideas what the hell is going on with my desktop please?

This is a bit of a guess, but since you are having trouble with other sites, I suspect it is a Flash security setting. The last time I checked (which was a while back), the GS video player required all Flash security settings to be wide open. Blocking Flash LSOs was a problem, and so was not "allowing third party Flash content to store data on your computer". I thought reinstalling Flash would reset the security settings, but I have never really checked - maybe it doesn't. If you don't have a complicated Flash security configuration that you need to keep intact, you could try finding your settings.sol files and wiping them all out - but I don't necessarily recommend that approach. There might be a more elegant way to reset your Flash security settings, but pursuing that might be contingent on how much time you want to spend on it.

Yeah, I was guessing it was a problem with the flash player. I start disabiling things one by one and see if it starts working again. Thanks a lot for the advice.

My friend let me help you;

1. Open Youtube\Gamespot or any other site that stream videos and use flash player.

2. Try to play any video and stop it as it starts.

3. Left Mouse click on the video player choose settings.

4. Should show the camera options or so, Browse to the display option (Should be on the utmost left) and untick 'Enable hardware acceleration'.

Hope this help you fix your problem :)
