I've been a pretty active user on GS for the last 3-4 years (although I just signed up for an account about a year and a half ago). I love this site but there's always room for improvement. I like what you're doing with the new site redesign beta, but there's something I think you really need to bring back. The old review system was perfect, but a while back you guys dumbed it down and made it only go by .5s. I'm sure a lot of other users will agree with me that this is a feature that should be brought back.

I couldn't agree more! Moving the rating system to 0.5 increments was the worst decision this site has made since my sign-up in 2003. What were you trying to accomplish? Make the reviewer's job easier? Of course, you could argue that it's just a number and the actual content of the review is what individuals should be looking at -- but that's ridiculous. I like having a well-thought out numerical value that quickly shows the reviews experience of the game. Having it in 0.5 makes it just too -- limited.

I'll be ecstatic if it does go back to the normal 0.1 interval system after the beta launches. It's not too late, Gamespot.

I'm all for this idea. I like the old review scoring much better.

I agree 100% with this topic, I was confused and very upset we never got a reason for moving to the .5 increment system. It doesn't let you distinguish games as better than others if they all get 9.0's or 9.5's. You can't distinguish enough between games with the .5 system that is currently in place.

GS should bring the .1 system back, and I don't see why they won't, the have the .1 system on TV.com.

I support it, but nothing is going to change.

Gamespot's stuck by their decision to move to the .5 intervals, and said they won't be changing back.
