I dunno if it's happening to you guys, but when I click logout, it links me to the home page. Help please.

It's working fine for me at least. This link should log you out and bring you straight back to this thread.

If it doesn't, it might be worth clearing your cookies. That action in itself will log you out, but it might also help in general.

Hmm... Three reports in a fairly narrow time frame. What browsers are you guys using? Are you seeing any error messages? As dab mentions, deleting your gamespot.com cookies manually will effectively log you out. That's what clicking the sign out link is supposed to do, but automatically.

I also cannot log out. I deleted all cookies, and I was log out on every site except for gamespot. How do I log out? EDIT: I use the latest Firefox btw.

Deleting your gamespot.com cookies will log you out, but you might have to also clear your cache to make it look that way. Do that with only one blank Firefox window open, then shut Firefox down. Setting Firefox to delete everything when you exit Firefox might also work, although that might be a bit heavy handed for some users. Aside from that, I'll just say that after a little fiddling with Firefox 3.5.3 just now, I'm still recommending against 3.5. If you want to use Firefox, use the latest Firefox 3.0 instead.

Alright that's good for now, but I hope you agree with me that this is ridiculous, the log out button should work without having to do all that.

Sure, but the sign out link *does* work when the browser, computer, and network involved are all working correctly. If the browser has bugs or the computer or network just aren't right, all bets are off. In those cases, sometimes all we can hope for is to steer users in the right direction, and maybe give them some tips on how to get by in the mean time. Incidentally, I was able to get 3.5.3 to log me out, but I saw other cookie issues that made me suspicious. I can't conclusively say 3.5.3 is the root of any sign out issues, but I recommend 3.0 over 3.5 anyway, for reasons that may or may not turn out to be related.
