Am I the only one that thinks the blacklist for certain words in comments is broken beyond repair?

For example, one cannot write the name of the actor who portrayed the Joker in Tim Burton's Batman. And one cannot proclaim victory by saying they 'defeated' or 'beaten' a game.

Whenever you write a comment that has a blacklisted word, your comment ends up in Pending purgatory, which you can't get out of without copying your comment, making a new one, and removing the potentially-"offending" words out of the comment.

Sorry, but the system really needs an overhaul, as it makes it practically impossible for certain legitimate comments to be made. I understand why the system is in place, so as to reduce the amount of profanity on the site, but the result is very much not up to scratch.

If you're referring to the blacklist in the livefyre comment system then it's worth pointing out that it's being scrapped in favour of an in-house one anyway. I don't believe the in-house one is filtered at all atm, though when a filter is applied to it certainly won't be nearly as ridiculous as the livefyre one is.
