http://www.gamespot.com/signup/comparisonchart.html

As you can see on this comparison chart. The total access membership, which I currently belong to, has a big check mark on the "No Intrusive ads" yet underneath my name, in the upper right corner, there is an ad for CNet. Hmmmm that seems fishy. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the Total Access? I think it does.

Possible rebuttles:

It's not intrusive! Answer: Yes it is. Every time I look at my name and move my mouse over it to click I see an ad for another site.

If Youre Meaning The Part "On TechRupublic or Filmspot or Cnet : This"

That is not An Ad, An Intrusive Ad is one that is forced to come up like on free members, sometimes when you go to a new page an add pops up with a title bar at the top saying "Continue To Gamespot",

Ive Been a Total Access Member Since April and i have never had 1 ad :D

I agree and I'm a Total Access membe also. I don't like these ads and request that they get rid of them. THey already have a CNET NETWORKS ENTERTAINMENT line at the very top of the page. That should be enough.

I do not see what the big deal is. If they take that add away then its just a blank space there b/c the search bar is still going to be there.

But not everyone may know that Donkey Kong is now on the Wii as well.

That isn't the point though. There is blank spaces in a lot of places, it doesn't mean that an ad should be put in the place of it. I still don't like it, even if it is small. Even though I am not a paying member anymore, I understand the frustration of it because this happened just before I became a mod.

It replaced the background changer. We're on Gamespot. If GS want people to know about Donkey Kong then they should write an article and put it on their own site.

I don't usually like to complain, especially because as a TA subscriber we are already getting a lot of benefits. But I too agree, it's a little annoying. If it where to rotate GameSpot news then that'd be OK because it's not ugly or anything, but like other said, we are here for video game news and if we wanted to know about other things we would go to other websites.
