Hey everyone!

We're interested in knowing what you all like about the gameplay data showing up on the site.

Please keep your GameSpot/Raptr integration in this thread so we can keep a track of your feedback all in one place.

You can start by going to this page to read the scoop about the gameplay data!

Feel free to also participate in the poll just for kicks. :)

Does this keep track of the hours you have played for each game like how Xfire works?

How will this eventually be integrated into Gamespot profiles? Will we be able to like the two accounts together and share the two of the and view all our data here on Gamespot? Also will we be able to post what we are playing here on Gamespot that is not a PC or Xbox 360 game, or have to go to the Raptr site? Just curious as to how interconected the two will be.

There probably won't be a full integration because of the nature of our sites - we specialize in different things so we'll keep doing what we do best and share a bit on each end (at least, that's what I know - I could be mistaken).

Right now the only reason we only do PC and 360 stuff is because that's all we can track. Sony and Nintendo don't share their gameplay info.

How about connectivity with a user's collection here on gamespot? That would be great. It's a shame about Nintendo though, you can access all of your game time automatically but there is no way to share it.

Sorry if I'm a little late here, but I think it'd be neat to have a Raptr related module somewhere on our Gamespot page.
I was thinking somewhere in the "Currently Playing" list or near it if you want to keep the original how it is.

I mean, it's cool that you can see what's being played more total on the pages for each console, but you can see that by just going to Raptr as well, right?
So it'd make sense to have something on your profile here linking to your Raptr profile in some way. On a more personal level, you know?

Cheers, keep it up!

I didn't, but I haven't had much time lately with work and gaming a lot, but by doing it manually do you mean finding a site that displays it and moving the data over to the Raptr thing? I'd have to actually look into it, I haven't made a Raptr account or know how it works, but Monday I have some free time, maybe I will look into it, also if you or anyone else has the time to PM me any information on how to do this manually would be greatly appreciated to save me some time. :) Otherwise I won't have time to look into it until Monday since I work until 7:00 p.m. tomorrow night, have to go out for a girl from work's birthday party, then I work until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday and have to be back in at 4:30 a.m. Monday morning so I won't get much time to look at it until Monday afternoon sometime.

I see other people playing Wii and PS3 games on Raptr, how can I do this?

You can set a 'manual presence' simply by changing your status on your Activity Feed. To the left of where you type a status is box that says 'is' and there's an arrow to the right of it. Click on the 'is' or the arrow and a drop down menu will appear. When you choose 'is playing', a list of all the games in your library will appear in the next box. Just select the game you're playing and in the next box, choose how long you're going to play or how long you played.

Unfortunately when you read the rest of the FAQ you will see that Sony and Nintendo don't like to share info which is why they can't be tracked normally:(

Maybe in time they will become more open minded on the idea, we can at least hope for that anyways. Seems like they'd at least give their customers the option to allow them to share the information for those that wished to do so. Have they given any official reason on why they don't want to share their information?

Existing GameSpot members, you can now link your Raptr account on GameSpot. Go to any game page and there is a link below the player data. We obviously have a few more steps for this exciting adventure so keep a look out for some more changes over the next few weeks.

EDIT: The gamespaces should be what raptr currently supports. Check around on the site to see what games might have the stats on it to find the link. For an example, PS3 and Wii games may not be currently tracked until Raptr offers this tracking. You can start by going here to link the page.

EDIT 2:
- If you encounter any errors linking your GS account with your Ratpr account report the problem in the GameSpot technical support forum. If you have problems with usage of Raptor head on over to their Help! forum.
- You may UNLINK your Raptr account by going to your optons and clicking the account tab. There you will find a link entitled "Unlink your Raptr account."

I've been seeing a bit more about Raptr recently... i think this has pushed me enough to create an account there! Good move for both sites!

EDIT: Seems the Raptr client is Windows only:(

Everybody head on over to this thread and tell Raptr what you want on their side with this update.

Incase you miss the Admin post I will quote it here.

Hey folks,

Though there's not much public information about *exactly* what will be shared between Raptr and Gamespot, we can tell you a few things. Right now, we're focused on sharing some of your gameplay related info with your linked profile on Gamespot. This will 'most likely' be achievements earned and which games you've played (maybe even how much you've played them?). We'll let Gamespot tell everyone exactly what they're going to display and how, it's only fair, it's their site we're talking about

With that being said, I noticed Spazz asked 'what if anything will come about it on the Raptr end?'. Great question! We're so focused on getting the data to Gamespot right now, we haven't even finalized things with the integration on our side. This is a great opportunity for you guys to tell us what you'd like to see though

Of course some ideas might not be feasible, but we'd seriously like to hear what info you would like to share from your Gamespot profile here on Raptr. I'm fairly certain that as soon as we get the data flowing to your profiles over there, that we're going to start working on our side of things.

So, I ask you, what would you like to see? Things from your profile on GS? Other info from GS (either for your page or game pages)? Let's hear what ideas you guys have

Hope this helps,

-BAZMAN-

*looks* So this is basically Xfire hooked up to other networks... It seems that as a chat client it's only advantage over trillian is Xbox live connectivity. As a gaming chat and server joiner it dosn't seem to have anything over Xfire and Steam, and considering Steam must be open to play a large amount of PC games there is no reason to use this. Is this solely aimed at Xbox gamers who want to record their hours? (WLM already has Xbox integration)
