This might have already been mentioned in another topic, but I'm going to bed here soon so I don't have much time to check, although I did not initially see anything.
The number 1 thing I did when I came onto Gamespot was to look at the top right for the latest gaming news. Why has this been shrunk into a one line affair below the interactive squares?
I firmly believe upgrades are good, but only if it adds to the previous features/design and optimises the site (not that it seemed slow loading at all before), and doesn't remove many of the original ones. I've seen some saying that it's an IGN style site, when really it isn't. Ok they have the on hover dropdown menu's, but that's really the only similarity. It still has it's own design and layout.
I'm going to guess they took a poll at some point to see what people look at the most, because I don't see any other reason why they would put the Top 10 games where the News used to be. For me the Top 10 that wasn't a big concern, but if I wondered I just went to the bottom of the page.
The one thing I enjoyed about the old design was that I actually liked it. And to be honest I would like this one even more if they had kept the Latest News the way it was.
Btw, if there is a way to change it at all that I haven't seen, feel free to tell me.
Upgrades don't always mean better i.e. Windows XP Professional is better than Windows 7 in my opinion.
