I can watch videos on my iPad, so I would guess there is some HTML5 video functionality already built in. I can definitely watch Giantbomb videos without installing Flash.
Specs:
Macbook Pro 17" late 2010 OSX Yosemite Safari 8.0.4
I can play gamespot videos on my ipad. Since Apple doesn't support flash on ipads there is HTML5 video happening. On my Mac I am required to install flash player. This may be intended for some reason (not a bug). But flash video is annoying.
Giantbomb has a choice between progressive, streaming, HTML5 and youtube.
