Dear Gamespot, just within the last hour or so (it is now 6:15 central time) every time I try to go to Gamespot home it tells me "To view this page, you must log in to area "gs.serving-sys.com" on gs.serving-sys.com:80." and it tells me my info will be secure. It won't let me exit out of the page and I have to force my browser to quit. I can reach the site by typing in the address bar: gamespot.com/ps3 or any other extension but if I just go to gamespot.com or click home from another section, it pops up telling me to sign in. I don't know if it's my ISP or something, I thought you might be able to help me.

For future reference - and in case we have other users running into the same thing. I think serving-sys is an advertiser. I suspect this must be coming from advertisements somewhere on the pages you are trying to view, and something has gone wrong with serving-sys' ad servers with the effect being the dialogs you are seeing. This sounds similar to an issue we had recently with signature images from tripletags when they went under. GameSpot might be able to do something about this issue if it is going to be permanent. Unlike tripletags, it is conceivable that serving-sys will be back. In the mean time, you may wish to explore the ad blocking options you have at your disposal, and consider where serving-sys fits in the overall scheme of things for you... Maybe the issue with serving-sys was temporary...

If you uploaded the image to imageshack or photobucket or something like that, can you just post a link to the image as plain text? Like: http://img329.imageshack.us/img329/5366/acz09kj0.jpg (except your image, of course) I strongly suspect you are just seeing your browser's http authentication dialog or something along those lines, but it would still be useful as documentation of the issue.

Yeah, so if you just use www.etc then it doesn't work? Good to know, although I've never had the issue since I just use the direct link from photobucket which includes the http:// portion of the link.

Well, I reset Safari and it seems to be working. But, now I can't find the screenshot I took! Anyway, if I find it, I'll post it.
