There is a bug where if you login from within an article, that article doesn't recognize you as logged in, thus you can not comment. However you can comment on other articles just fine. If you login from the home page, everything is fine.

@straightcur: Can you let us know what article you're seeing this on? And what exactly you're doing and what the page does, including any error messages? How is the commenting function broken - does it say you cannot comment, or is the comment box just missing?
@wemmick: This is nothing new. it has been ongoing for quite some time. I simply forgot to close the article page and go to the main page before logging in this time.
Today I was on the latest GS News page. I logged in, but when I went to comment, it continually asks me to login to post. I can try multiple times, but with no change. However, if I go to another article I can comment fine. It seems that after a certain amount of time (or navigating away from GS, not sure what cures it) I can eventually comment. There is no error, it simply acts as if im not logged in.
@straightcur: Could you give us the URL where you see this happening? I haven't seen this behavior or heard of it from others, so I'll need a little help nailing it down. Would you be able to provide a screenshot showing you logged in with the "Sign in to post" message in the comment area?
Normally if you are on an article (or any page really), this would happen:
Are you seeing all of these happen, except for the last one?
Is there a possibility this is happening between different windows or tabs? For instance, if have GS open in two tabs and sign in on one, the other tab won't show you as signed in until you refresh the page.
@wemmick: Ok, logged out, cleared all browsing history and cookies and cache, everything, then logged on in the Battlefield 1 article.... Same thing. Sorry.
@straightcur: We're pretty baffled by it, yes. We're only getting this one report, and with the same browser/OS, we can't reproduce, which makes it awfully hard to attempt a fix. Usually situations like this are caused when you have some something unique going on with your PC, either a browser extension (not just an ad-blocker), an aggressive firewall/antivirus or something like that. Without seeing your PC directly, I'm afraid there isn't much more we can do.
If you have a chance, it'd be super helpful if you could try Chrome or Firefox just to see if the behavior exists there as well, or try signing in on another PC or your a cell phone.
@wemmick: fair enough. I can appreciate that this may be on my end. perhaps I will do some experimenting with my firewall and anti-virus.
I am having this issue as well, I log into my account to comment on the Madden 17 Review and it says I`m logged in at the top, But it continues to tell me I cannot comment unless I log in? Even tried to log in with Facebook Credentials, still didn`t work. I AM Logged in but I cannot comment, Because it is saying I`m not logged in??? Very annoying.......
@straightcur@loner614 I see both of you guys have posted comments recently - are there certain circumstances when you can post vs when you can't? Certain pages? Or right after you sign in? Or using a certain browser?
@loner614 What browser/OS versions are you using?
@wemmick3: i can comment fine if i sign in from the homepage. also if i sign in from within an article, it is only that page that i can not comment on, all other pages still work correctly...
I have also tested recently using Chrome and i can not replicate the issue. (all recent comments were made using IE)
@wemmick3: I tried logging in from the homepage as straightcur suggested, Would not work for me? However, I can log in when using Chrome: browser, But Internet Explorer will not work? Unfortunately alot of other websites are the opposite, & will not work with Chrome. Why I have to keep both browsers installed.... O/S Windows 7
