Hi there!

I would like to have some help with a video I've just uploaded. It runs fine on my PC, but the uploaded version here has got no sound. Any ideas (it's in .wmv format)?

Thanks in advance.

Well, I would like to keep it WMV because my encoding here is better that way. Anybody knows the last WMV codec supported by GS player?

As far as I know all user-uploaded videos are converted to Flash video format (FLV). If your plan is to upload a video to GameSpot, the most reasonably thing to do is to choose a format that will process successfully.

Well, the very 'upload videos' page says me that WMV is a valid format. The conversion within the site is crappy since my audio has gone aside the fact that my video has been cut by half (you can see at my user video page that the full runtime is 4'13" but it stops running at 2'32").

"WMV" doesn't mean just *one* thing - over the years there are quite a few different codecs that have been used to create WMVs. The problem is that there are really far too many of these different codecs, and at this point the situation has long been way out of control. Ask yourself this question: what audio and video codecs are you using in your WMVs? If you know, it might be possible to pursue the issue further.

That's why I asked what codecs GS supports in the posts above... Nevermind, I've uploaded an .avi version that is uglier but at least it's working.

Thanks for the help anyway.
