Great job Gamespot, current one is so bad i stopped checking screenshots long time ago. New one has slick design, hign res preview. i even like the gamespot's smaller top bar in gamespot page.

Yes! Same here, I was seriously opening another game reviews website just to check their screenshots even if I would have ads between them just because it was more convenient. I really like that now you can use tabs to open different images without any problems. Probably the best site enhancement overall in a very long time (the only one that made me come post here :P)
I'm not a big fan of the new image viewer yet for one big reason: you cannot easily move between the full-size versions of the images. With the new viewer, you have to click the "View full size" link to get the full-res image, then you have to click "back to image viewer" to go back, then advance to the next image, and again click "View full size" to see the next image in full-res. This could probably be fixed by just putting buttons and thumbnails on the full-size page (like before) to allow you to move between high-res images without having to go back to the low-res page.
Exactly why I was looking for a thread on this. GameSpot, stop messing with the image viewer. It just gets worse every time. The previous version was at least bearable.I'm not a big fan of the new image viewer yet for one big reason: you cannot easily move between the full-size versions of the images. Gheez! I searched the forum because of my having the same complaint. I hoped there was a solution that I was somehow missing.
If anyone from Gamespot is reading this, please put a high-priority on enhancing the image viewer...really just fixing usability problems, but the ROI on that likely won't allow the big-wigs to sign-off. Maybe tell them the project will increase time spent on the site per user, lessen churn - something! Be creative, but fix this darn thing please!
Just had a thought: maybe Gamespot did this on purpose to conserve bandwidth...
