You cant, Gamespot has cock blocked you. If you remove Adblock they will give you a better player, but then they will give you the worst ads the internet has ever seen. Pick your poison.
i have remove the adblock but still i get the shitty player without changing the quality.Also,the new player even with the adblock on shows fucking 30 secs annoying ads
Ugh...bump... Why am I seeing 30 secs of ads even with adblock installed? So adblock is the reason for extremely sh*tty video player... I would be OK with 5 sec ads, but **** this shit. If there is no solution I will lose my interest in GS.
As an avid member and consumer of Gamespot for over 10 years, I have to say that this new bout of site redesign is awful. The new video player is especially heinous - quite possible the absolute worst I have ever seen or used. I feel like I'm watching videos on a sketchy illegal Russian movie website. This is needs to be addressed or I suppose I'll just have to completely switch to Giant Bomb.
@Almighty-mints: You're seeing this because you are running an Ad Blocker. We're working on making the Ad Blocker player better but for now. turn off ad blocker for 2 weeks and you'll get the regular video player back.
@edgework: I understand that, just would have been nice to receive a warning of some sort beforehand. The fact that it takes two weeks to revert to a better player is insanity. I work in journalism, I understand the importance of ad revenue, but this is incredibly intrusive to my enjoyment of the site. I know I'm not alone in this either.
Next time if a change such as this is going to be implemented send a message or warning to those who will be affected so we have time to react and disable ad-blocker.
@Almighty-mints: You can clear your cookies if you don't want to wait two weeks. I'm not entirely sure why 30 seconds of an ad is intrusive. Its not like 30 seconds pre rolls are new. Oh TV has had them for about 70 years now.

And that's why I haven't watched TV in years.But I now get 30 second ads with 40 second trailers, even with adblock on :/
I call BS even when i disable the ABP I still get this new player which dont let me choose quality and the quality of the video threw that play are absoultly terribe. And I refuse disable ABP to do cause the website way to slow with abp off. cause gamespot like many other site have so many ads they slow the website loading down considerbly and ihave 100+ mbit connection.
I could care less about the 30sec ad before the video i fine with that, what i not fine with is the fact the player has no quality control and video it show tend to super bad quailty
So why can't this site have a similar model to Giant Bomb where I can pay a yearly cost and not deal with these ads that make me never want to visit this site?
@christaran: Giant Bomb and GameSpot are two very different sites with different users. We tried a premium model for GameSpot and it was a complete failure that lost us a lot of money.
