I'm sure you're not talking about this pile of shit they now call Gamespot. You accidentally posted on the wrong forum no doubt.
You have been on the Internet for so long and you can't recognize a troll?
Also, way to go coming back to GameSpot, dude. I suppose that you think that coming back once in a while to trash a site that you once visited would somehow make a difference.
Just want to come back and say I wasn't intentionally being a troll.. it just came out that way.
Then you really are in the wrong site. :/
Th funny thing is that it wasn't broken before they fixed it.
The old site was extremely broken in a lot of ways..
@harry_james_pot:
now the real question is, are they referring to the old site, or the first design of this one?
I guess we'll know if he replies. =P
Was referring to the "old" pre-revamp (ie before the useless "stacks" concept was introduced) version by which you could track your games in a simple table display by platform and sort by release date, title, score, genre, etc and move games from want list to now playing to the played table. Also reviews were sorted from most recent to oldest rather than by the number of thumbs up or down.
Other features may have had problems in the "old" version too but I mainly use(d) GameSpot for tracking my games, my friends and reading reviews (by platform). Anyway the features I enjoy(ed) are now "busted", others may have been fixed.
I guess the new site is subjective to what people use it for. for some it works fine, and for others its a nightmare. cant please everyone.
Dude, let's be real here. This new site feels like they grabbed a copy of Giantbomb, took a massive shit on it then covered it up with donut sprinkles and served it up to Gamespot users as a delicious breakfast treat. All of the things that made the old site great, the search filters and cross-referencing, are gone. What's left is just this pathetic, partially-functional husk of a game site. On the surface it looks new and inviting but as soon as you sink your teeth in and get passed the sprinkles it's impossible not to taste the ugly truth.
EDIT: man, even the forum blows. How long has internet forum technology been around? Only twenty years but these guys still find a way to make it suck. Unreal ...
I think it looks awful and was completely unnecessary. Also runs like crap. Couldn't even keep my avatar in the transition. Pity.
Whoever's decision it was to do away with date stamps and replace them with "x amount of time ago", lame. Holy shit. No more pages in threads? Oh boy! I love scrolling and scrolling and scrolling until I just get lost scrolling! Some much fun!
