Okay so I'm obviously new here but I've been around many forums in my years. Why is it that video game forums are separated so much? An example is Call of Duty. I've been to some forums where there's a section for the entire franchise. I've been to other forums where there's a section for each call of duty game (1, 2, 3, 4, WAW, MW2, BO). Here you have it separated for each game AND on different consoles, why's that? Many people on the Modern Warfare 2 board are currently talking about Black Ops. People on the black ops board talk about the past call of duty games obviously. If you say you don't want to start a console war on a certain game and that's why they're separated, well that doesn't help because I've already seen some console wars in the two days I've been here.
The game forums here are actually hosted from gamefaqs.com. If a game has multiple forums on GameFAQs, you can access those forums using the GameFAQs website using the same login information for your Gamespot account. Only the "general" forum for a game is linked from the Gamespot side.
For more information on the shared boards, you can read this thread.
