I can understand your point in thinking these ads are over the line, but this is everywhere. On TV commercials these ads are there and outside of that in the outside world. This is something that a lot of people are heavily exposed to and if you are offended by these ads, then your best bet would be to upgrade to Total Access where you can view this site ad-free.Â
Even at that, the young people who visit this site are supposed to be 13 years or older and most, while not always mature, understand this stuff based off of what they are exposed to and taught in school and other places.

And this makes it OK? I don't think so. Our young people are exposed to enough garbage in the world, as you've already pointed out. My point is simply that it would be decent if GS went beyond the "norm" and actually censored the ads (and even the game graphics) that they display on their site. Just because someone lies in the middle of a busy highway doesn't mean you should to.
The amount of sugguestive content in advertisements bothers even me. I can only hope myself that these kinds of things are toned down in the future with enough feedback.

By the way.. former EvE player here. It's decent if you can get over the "Pay and Wait" scheme.Â
One of the resons I upgraded to total access was to advoid the ads. Yes the ads are suggestive, but the problem is that the only way gamespot is going to take them down for you is if you get total access! It is amazing that gamespot expects us to play nice and fair without even cursing, and then they put up those ads! I was totaly offended by the "hotest collage girl" ad that was up awile, even though im male. Sexim of women is killing the self esteem of the young girls today, they feel they HAVE to be size 2 or even 0 to look good! There is no point of women making themselves bone thin!
I vote a worldwide BAN on these types of ads! There is no sence in these ads being shown!

Something I've noticed recently are the number of suggestive ads running all over GS. For instance I just saw one for EVE Online that says "Taste EVE" and it has a picture of a woman with her mouth open about to swallow what looks like a space ship. Of course you don't need to be a rocket scientist to see the sexually perverse overtones of this ad. Considering the number of young people that frequent this site I am wondering if GS goes to any lengths to screen these ads they put all over their site?dcgames

I found the whole of that picture:
Gamespot is a business site, those ads displayed in the site(if your not a subscriber), are the ones that fund the site. Advertisers can easily click on the botton and the bottom of the page, " Advertise on Gamespot", to advertise whatever product. ElendilElessar
That reply is totally irrelevant to my original post. I think we all know that GS is a business site, but that doesn't mean they have to allow suggestive ads. You would think they would censor such things.
Haha come on. Are we living in the 2nd century Jerusalem? It's not like someone will see that AD and go like sex crazy or something. It's a cool ad to attract attention and it has done exactly what it was created for - it harnassed attention.
Oh and I personally love that ad and its creator is a genius. He should get an award or something.
