The Latest Emblem Reporting Thread: **READ first post BEFORE reporting**

For those of you who don't know, there are many types of emblems but I consider them as two different categories; automated and manual.

READ THIS POST BEFORE POSTING YOUR EMBLEM REPORT
Note:Debates of any kind will not be supported, this is a REPORTING thread and not a feedback thread.

1) Automated emblems are handed out when based on the way you use certain features of the site over a long period of time. It can be anything from being popular, the types of console platforms you own, tagging content, video you upload and much more. Unions are also under this category. Automated emblems can often disappear from your profile. If you have noticed that a certain emblem has been gone for 24 hours you can report your problem in this thread.

2) Manual emblems are normally given out from attending a live broadcasts, participating in tournaments, winning a contest and other related events. These emblems can be automated in the sense of coding (where no staff need to manually add them) but they can be handed out if there was a problem happening during the time of the broadcast or event. However, automated usage of the site emblems cannot be handed out manually so this is why they are considered as manual emblems.

As mentioned in the Knowledgebase under "I am missing an emblem, what should I do?":

GameSpot emblems are a privilege. We do not hand out emblems if you happen to miss out on an opportunity to receive one. If you did not receive an emblem for watching a broadcast there is most likely a reason for this. This may occur if you did not watch broadcast stream long enough.

IMPORTANT! Please wait 24 hours before reporting your problem in this thread if it's an automated emblem. Customer Support should only be contacted if you have a problem with a manual emblem and once again, wait 24 hours before contacting them that your emblem is missing. Even then you are more likely not going to receive the emblem unless there is a valid reason or if there is a known bug and many others are having the same problem.

ATTENTION:

What do the emblems look like?
If you are uncertain what some of the emblems look like, check out fastesttruck's emblem thread.

To all those users saying that all of the sudden they have lost a live feed emblem, we can't help you unless you can post some kind of proof that the emblems had been there in the first place.

If you are missing any live feed/manual emblems, there's no way to get them. anymore. Either the time frame to report them has already passed or the emblems are not handed out anymore.

Game Rating and Collection Emblems:

The game rating Emblems have been VERY buggy. This means that the Outlier, Way Harsh and Push over emblems disappear randomly, this happens almost every day, along with many game emblems. However the rating emblems are NOT coming back the next day, and if they do, they don't stay very long at all.

Also if you think you should have an emblem like the "Hella Old School" or something, wait more than 24 hours before reporting it.

All of the below emblems come and go on their own accord when the site updates. Do NOT report them being missing unless they have been gone for a FULL 72 hours. If you still don't have the emblem when you should or think you should, again wait a FULL 72 hours before reporting it. The reason for this is that often times they go MIA for a day or so, and as users report the same issue, it eats up our time.

Do NOT report that you are missing this emblem. Emblem has been given out. You have one more chance from now until March 30th to report the missing emblem.

Yep! We'll post a link to the rules about how you can claim your Reader's Choice award emblem in Monday afternoon's weekly report. You'll want to stop by the community page or go to the forums directory and click on the Spam Filter logo. You can also drop by the Site Enhance board and check the topics to find it.

As Dracula68 mentioned, the reporting thread will be time sensitive and there will be a deadline. After that we'll close up the emblem vault for this ghetto emblem.

Ah, makes sense. I thought it was just for the platform you had the most games for. That explains why it went away for me as I kept adding games for consoles and lost the PC one.

well, I just noticced ( I never knew there were emblems for them) I never got my gears 2 gameplay marathon, or my GOTY 08 voting emblems. I voted in every category in GOTY and other than the first like 20 minutes I watched the whole Gears 2 marathon...dragonfly110

thats fine I am not an emblem freak or anything I was just looking at the profile saw that the emblem looked cool and realized hey wait I was at that marathon (they even posted one of my questions on it.)

There were thousands of votes, but some users only voted on a couple of categories. I am waiting on staff to send me the emblem and will send a PM to any of the users that receive the emblem. I will post the emblem in the weekly community report once it's been granted to the users.

2) Halo Marathon did not grant any users an emblem. As previously mentioned, not every marathon grants an emblem and when you do get one it's like a little unexpected present!

Just wanted to make sure I'm on that list. I voted for EVERYTHING the day the polls where open, and considering how buggy it was, wanted to make sure it registered.

I should get the emblem because i voted for every category.

The emblem still isn't in my profile 24 hours later and according to the emblem guide by Soulreaver cross here it's also discontinued or in her / his words "ALL these emblems were removed from Gamespot. You CANNOT get any of them!"

It's also the first time i've been pm'd in regards to gaining an emblem. I'm pretty confused about now.

Edit: Ok i found out that it seems i got rewarded the emblem from this thread and it was nice to have been recommended. As JodyR said i got the PM but no emblem with it...

dont know if it is a random selection for GOTY coting or not, but in every single category I voted, and in most I was first to comment (in one I even beat Tom Mcshea doing the test comment :P )

200 people is very low.

No doubt when the emblem is here there's going to be alot of complaining from the people who did vote in all the subcategories & did not recieve an emblem.

Didn't the voting reset at some point leaving people to vote twice...?

As long as you read everything and are in tune with whats going on you should be fine. ;)

I don't mean to step on anyone toes but please keep this thread strictly to reporting emblems that's already been released. This way the admins have less posts to go through and they can fix it much quicker. Thanks for understanding.

I've added my 200th game about 3 days ago now (maybe longer) and I still haven't recieved my emblem for it. Amnesiac23

For the record, the 2008 Reader's Choice emblem has been locked down in the emblem vault as mentioned in this thread.

Well for one, I was busy and almost missed the thread.

and for two when I went to post in the thread (and yes it was before it was locked!) it said invalid board cannot post here... I was gonna come bynow (wehn Iorigninally went to post in itI was atschool and didnt have time to make a topi and stuff)to report it when I see:its locked :(

yeah I know it is too late, but I am saying that I was busy and that when I tried to post in it it wouldnt let me so I was gonna report the glitch when I got back and if you look he closed the thread like 10 minutes before then.

Pllus isnt it obvious that I voted, I mean I posted the first comment in a lot of the categories... and there are people that got this emblem that literally only have posted 4 times here let alone posted in the threads to prove that they voted.....
