The video never loads

Since yesterday,i can't load any videos on gamespot.com .Anyone got any ideas how to fix it ??

Unfortunately this is a technical issue so I am moving it from the Ask the Moderators board to the Technical/Feedback board and hopefully you will get more assistance there with resolving the issues. To get the ball rolling, may I ask what web browser you are using and have you got flash player/your web browser up to date?

Using adblock perchance?

Well, it seems that when I get to a game review that has a video embedded in it, I always get a blank page with the message that says "Video Loading..." that lasts forever and I never get an entire review on it. When will the "video loading..." bug on any embedded game review be fixed? I'm using Google Chrome, BTW.

If you're using adblock/ABP's EasyPrivacy list - it's blocking videos on GS atm, it's an issue that the list creators need to sort out really, I don't think that particular list is even enabled by default, though it is one of the main ones. Apparently the specific problem line is "||gamespot.com/cgi/chkpt.php?" without the quotation marks for easyprivacy. Edit: EasyPrivacy list has been updated and should no longer be causing issues if you're using the most up to date list.

Ghostery can also block it as it blocks much of the same things, but uses provider names (such as DoubleClick for advertising) and blocks in a slightly different manner - if Ghostery is causing the issue then just toggle them and reload the video page until you find the one causing the issue - they can all be very easily temporarily or permanently allowed on GS specifically or on all sites via the basic interface for Ghostery and most are allowed by default I believe so the ABP EasyPrivacy list is a far more likely cause if you're using both.

As an aside - you're blocking livefyre scripts atm too - that could be due to an ABP list (easyprivacy/antisocial filter lists most likely), Ghostery, or even NoScript blocking them. Though the comment system is being replaced in due time anyway.

Just wanted to add that "HTTPS Everywhere" was my problem with Chrome, even with Ghostery and Adblock disabled.
It seems that plenty of websites don't like these extensions XD
