I'm having an error viewing videos when not signed in that require DOB verification. I enter my date of birth and on clicking submit I am told "Incorrect date format" and I will be unable to view the video.

I have heard of others having this problem, please fix as soon as possible. Thanks.

Yes, I had the same problem. I was trying to watch the latest start/select, but It's been broken since the episode was first posted. I can view it now that I've signed up to gamespot, but I couldn't before.

Yes, me too. I've been getting "incorrect date format" after I enter a correct date format. This has been going on for two days now. Could Gamespot please reply a bit more promptly to these messages as we are loyal fans of this site? Thank you.

Yeah please, I've always used gamespot but for some reason it thinks i'm too young to watch these videos. I'm 16 so I don't know if it's an error or if i'm just too young for the gory stuff :pI always have to sign out for the higher rated videos but now I can't watch them like that I may have to start using a different site which would be a shame.

Switch the month and the day around. That should do it.

I dont see how that's possible...

http://img37.picoodle.com/img/img37/3/2/6/f_20090206Gamm_87889ea.gif

I'm having the problem on IE8 and Chrome (and have been for a few days).

I'm in the UK, so have tried a date 1/1/1972 where it doesnt matter if the day and month are reversed into US format. That doesnt help.

I am having exactly the same problem - the format it allows is to select month from dropdown, day/date from dropdown, then year from dropdown. The message 'incorrect date format' is completely illogical, as it forces you to use that format. I got my message trying to look at the Saints Row video review. Sod it, lets check out IGN.

Then I don't know. GameSpot videos never ask me for my date of birth, so I can't check it out for myself.

I have reported the issue. I can't promise that it will be fixed this weekend.

Thanks for the screenshot clock210.

Would everyone provide some information for us to investigate further?

Are any of you UK or AU users? uk.gamespot.com or au.gamespot.com is in your site url?

What web browsrs are you using? (Firefox, Internet explorer, safari, opera, chrome)?

Same problem, been going on for a while now. I think it first happened when I tried to watch the Killzone 2 impressions video. I'm an Aussie, using Camino for Mac I also tried Firefox and Safari, same deal.

i keep getting "incorrect date format" when trying to watch videos very annoying.... Had this happen a few months ago then it cleared itself now its back again grrrrrr! Sort it out Gamespot. Loads of people with same problem we cant all have faulty setups...can we? Has anyone else noticed how Gamespot say "if you have a problem check the forums" in other words we couldnt give a toss.

It seems that this is happening to those of you who do not reside in U.S.

We're sorry for the delays on getting you a solution, but we think we figured out the problem. I'll follow-up as soon as I hear anything else. Thanks for your patience.

I'm having the same problem. I'm a UK user, using firefox

It didn't affect me until I cleared my 'Private Data' on firefox. And I lost my gamespot cookies, they must have had my DOB saved on them
