There's not really any feeback in there that I can see.
If you're suggesting that they allow those things, you should note that those are limitations of the GameFAQs forum software. They can't do those things either. The only thing they can do that we can't is delete their own posts.
Well why don't they completely merge?King-Bart
Don't ever suggest that on the GameFAQs forums. You'd probably get flamed.
They can come post here if they want. The reason they don't is because they don't want to. Some of them want absolutely nothing to do with GameSpot and are hostile towards GameSpot members.
However, GameSpot and GameFAQs have a symbiotic relationship. In its current form GameSpot needs GameFAQs and GameFAQs needs GameSpot. But if the two were completely merged, they'd probably destroy each other.
I think Gamefaqs don't moderate fairly I can't even count how many Flaming posts I've seen in the shared boards. I never post there now because it is really annnoying and when you report something it never gets moderated. I think the reason why those boards aren't really active by Gamespot users is because of these issues. I think Gamespot can do a lot better without sharing boards. I also hate having to go on Gamefaqs just to submit a cheat.
So I'm fully 100% with King-Bart, however I wouldn't like to merge with Gamefaqs but separate instead.

Correct me if I am wrong about this, but doesn't gamespot get all the interviews and give all the reviews for games, not gamefaqs? I am sure that gamefaqs owns the gaming part of gamefaqs, but without any exclusive coverage, could they survive on their own? I am sure gamespot could because if they really had to, they could rebuild especially with the help of many members of unions that are willing to help. If gamespot still gets exclusive interviews with developers they could still survive. I am sure forums could be made up quick for the game pages. I really think if gamefaqs is too stubborn to merge then gamespot could do fine on their own. I don't see any downside for them to completely merge with gamespot. They get more abilities, and can stay part of the same community. They can also join unions and branch out a whole lot more. What is their to hate?

The members can come to GameSpot if they want, just as I can (and do) go to GameFAQs. If they are forced, they could leave entirely.
GameFAQs already does survive. They have CNET to support them. And at one point, they had IGN to support them.
And here's something to consider:
GameSpot needs GameFAQs. The gamespaces for every game is shared with GameFAQs. The data for games is provided by GameFAQs users and the GameFAQs editor (formerly CJayC, currently SBAllen) verifies it and adds it to the site. In some cases the GameFAQs editor or a GameSpot staff member will add the information themselves.
Changes to data on GameFAQs propagate to GameSpot automatically, and vice versa. Every gamespace is linked to a gamespace on GameFAQs. Without GameFAQs, there would be no gamespaces. All information would have to be provided by GameSpot staff. And there are a lot of games to provide information for.
Merge the two together however, and you risk the loss of a huge chunk of community, defeating the purpose of the entire system. They have to be kept seperate because they want to be kept seperate.
