It isn't on the main forum page anymore. I really hope it isn't going to be gone for good. This is a high traffic site, so it was a great place to come talk about older consoles and games because there was a steady amount of activity. It was the main reason I checked gamespot forums frequently and I know a lot of other users will feel the same. I don't see the harm in keeping it as it is just one forum. I remember when gamespot users had to adjust to the compression of the ps2, original xbox, gamecube forum into legacy platforms. I was against it too at the time, but the legacy platforms forums worked pretty well. Having no specific section to talk about consoles before this generation just seems kind of nuts for a big site like this.

Giantbomb.com didn't have a section like this and it's why I preferred gamespots forums. Now both sites feel too much like the same thing when it comes to forums. The legacy platform forum gave us something different to talk besides all the new stuff coming out and it was nice and I miss it!

@The-Apostle: Yea I know it's there, but since it's not shown on the forum main page it might as well not exist because no one will ever find it.

The games discussion board sucks it's only ever current gen discussion. Any topic that's pre 7th gen related quickly disappears off the front page. There's five boards in which to talk about current gen games not even counting SW, there should be at least one board devoted to retro discussion. It's a shame that there's over 30 years of gaming discussion that simply can't be done on this site.

same thing for the computer hardware discussion. it is absent from the main boards, and as such creating topics in it is seemingly impossible.

Sad that is gone too. That section was very helpful to me in the past when I had questions.

and what's worse is that it got combined with several other forums making it more confusing.
