After writing extensive posts, using the WYSIWYG editor exclusively, it turns out any manually written BBCode tags or HTML tends to cause the "Check for unclosed tags" error.

It's very frustrating, as I tend to put in quotes often. Even when quoting a post directly and just adding plain text to it I get the same return until I remove the quote and turn it into an italicized portion using the button at the top of the WYSIWYG editor.

This has been happening to me lately, and it does the same thing with the paragraph code a lot of times. (br/) worked a lot better than (p).

This only happens to me with the [IMG] tags. I always end up getting a 'check for unclosed tags' error. I have to then use the default inserter:

I hope so too. It's just been maddening trying to write a long post with the errors being returned. Especially when I look at the HTML source and there ARE no unclosed tags.

I cannot use spoilers, whether they are quoted or made by myself for the life of me. I get the SAME error you put up.

So I figure if mods are having problems, there's nothing I can do about it either then?

If you are having such luck, then tell me how I can fix it, because I can't even quote you with the spoiler tags.

Another thing which never qorks is when someone posts a comment using the [IMG] tags. If i decide to quote them i get an error for unclosed tags, constantly. I know my way around HTML and i know there is nothing wrong with the coding, yet i get errors.

So you think being a level 30 user who's been here for almost a year and a half I don't know how to use spoiler tags?

I do, and they DONT WORK.

Now, I'm asking how you can get them to work. It comes up with the same error that was the original problem posted, however I can read my spoiler tags (without the spaces as you say).

And no, I cannot directly quote you because spoilers give me an error.

I don't know what else to tell you to try if you can't get them to work like I explained. Sorry.

Then there's the problem. I put them in, exactly like you said since they were implemented. Now they just stop functioning.

Is it an issue with Firefox that's known, or would Internet Explorer remedy it or is this just a mere Gamespot caused issue?

I've never had an issue posting spoilers, but I can hardly ever quote them. I use FF so I know that FF isn't your issue SemiMaster.

I too have found that BBcode inserted leads to a HTML malformed error. Even if the editor is switched off, I find most BBCode tags (excluding the quote and code tags they work fine for some reason) give this error, unless there are no HTML tags in the post.

I can't quote or use them out of nowhere. So any way the tags are involved, I can't use them. They do however seem to NOT be there in the code according to the error I get, although I see them plain as day.

And no, I don't use IE, but Firefox, maybe switching or turning on something in the browser properties might work, I don't know. It's frustrating that we can't use half of the functions sometimes from these glitches.

Ressurected, yes... but it's still a BIG problem.

I ended up having to re-write a post pertaining to tournament stuff more than six times because of this problem, yet there were NO tags in the HTML source that were Unclosed or Malformed.

This happened when I was using a quote from a text source I pasted in. It also seemed to work once I replaced the (p) and (/p) tags with break tags instead. When I did a preview it did just fine, but when submitting it to post, it ended up with the same Malformed and unclosed tag error.

Haha.. and I got another one while writing this post.

Re-write Number 1: Removed quotations around words and replaced tag indicators with parentheses.
