@dragonfly110: Schmup? Short for Shoot 'em up, a term for those scrolling games like Galaga or Ikaruga where you shoot a bunch of stuff as it comes towards your character.
Never heard of "Pringles" and there wasn't any option for 'repetitive low damage attacks meant to beat a foe through a war of attrition", aka chip damage, but supposedly, it's for weak openers for mass combos?
Aside, Turtle/turtling is also half-right for the right answer, they just wrote it in a more Fighting-Game style answer.
My result was "Paranoid internet user", because my browser blocks third party cookies and the test didn't show. lol
13. Twinking is transfering good gear to a lower level character. An old MMO term.
A good advice is not to google that term.
I have no idea who first came up with using that in mmo´s but how that term got from its origin to gaming is beyond me.
Pringles is chip/block/attrition damage? When i grew up this was called "cheese/cheesing" or "cheese winning". In one fighting game a long time ago if you died while blocking you got a literal cheese symbol as a victory instead of the normal ones. I can't remember what fighting game that was. Oh just looked it up, it was a couple Street Fighter games i guess. I barely played 4 though http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/943713-street-fighter-iv/50602482
"note: In Street Fighter Alpha 2, a victory icon was introduced in the form of a small cheese wedge, which was designed sardonically in honor of the predominance of "cheese" in the fighting game genre, which is awarded to the winner of a round who defeats their opponent using a Super or Special move while they are blocking." -Urban Dictionary for corner cheese
despite gaming for probably 20 years now i didn't know a lot of the terms since i don't play moba (didn't even know what the letters moba stood for for the longest time).. turtling? shumpling? rushdown? the must be moba terms or something
I got 14/15
Pretty sure I got Pringles wrong. Because I picked Potato Chips.
Some of the answers are pretty amusing. I especially laughed at the Noob question, with "A Nintendo Game" being an answer. Props to whoever wrote some of the answers.
I had 8/15 even though I've been playing for more than 25 years. I've never heard of a lot of terms ... Well just like every time I log in Gamespot after a while I discover new insults depending on which system you prefer ... this is ridiculous.
@dragonfly110: Bullet hell is something os a sub genre of Schmup. All bullet hells are schmups, but not all schmups are bullet hells.
@thekazumalord: turtling is an attack/defend fighting style. I first heard it in GunZ which is a shooter/ CQC game from the 2000's. A Shmup is a Shoot 'Em Up, think Galaga. Rushdown is a popular term for RTS' like Starcraft.
