Couple things:
having to send my PS2 in to get fixed after that lame disc read error
the gran turismo 3 wheel sucked, and i traded lots of good games to be able to afford it
the end of the dreamcast :(
The day I lost my Commodore 128 :(Dzjaansis
Almost the same as one of my disappointments: the day my Commodore Plus4 broke :(
Also, the day I saw Suikoden II for £40 but I didn't have the money on me. I went back that afternoon and t'was gone :(
Keeping it just in the realm of collecting, not gaming, I've had few disapointments other than those that resulted from me not properly reading the descriptions of Ebay items I committed to buying.
The day my 360 broke. This was months ago I rang MS Customer Support, talked to a dude for half an hour to get it fixed and they never emailed me with the code or whatever. I haven't bothered to ring again. I wanna sell it but id have to get it fixed :(
Also I lent this kid about a dozen of my fav PS1 games and I never got them back because his mother is a biatch and won't speak to her family who are friends with my mother. I still see the kid but now that they sent him to live with his dad I doubt I will ever see the games again...they probably chucked em out.
Probably when this guy I know "gave" me a bunch of NES games. He said, and I quote, "I don't use these anymore...test them out and see if they work. If they do, you can have them." A few days later I went back to him and said that they worked and thanks. He then said "What are you going to give me for them?" I walked away without a word, went and got the box, and gave them back to him. There were a couple of good ones in there too...couple Mega Man titles and a few others that were borderline rare. Dang it...jollyroger78Basically he kinda used you to test them out oO

Yep. Had he said "sell" in the first place, I wouldn't have been so burnt about it. But he said "give". Ah well.
My most disappointing moment was when I bought a big box of vintage gaming accessories from a guy on craigslist. There were things like an NES Powerglove and powerpad, an NES advantage controller, misc. controllers and other fine vintage items. when I got the box home and really checked and tested everything out, it was basically a $70 box of junk. I think only a couple of controllers actually worked. Oh well, lessoned learned.
I would say also is getting a rare game new in the box, and then wanting to play said game. I just got an Alladin Deck Enhancer for the NES new in the plastic, but now I really wanna open it and play it!
The worst thing for me is basically forcing myself to trade in stuff to get newer stuff.BigC43
I did the same thing in the late 80's/early 90's which is why I don't have many games now. Now if I was to somehow come up with a number of games I owned at one point......

Dude this is the post of the month right here. xDMy biggest collecting dissapointment is selling games when I was a kid. But everything happens for a reason so i don't really mind what i did in the past.
