I've been wondering about this system, ive had it when i was younger but i only loved it for crazy taxi, power stone and sonic. OH and some other game, i forgot what it was called, it was like toy airplanes that fight each other. it was colorful, in multuplayer you had our own base and made sure no one attacked it.... doesnt ring a bell? man i really want that game, another hint, in the story mode you fought wierd characters, like a clown and stuff, and you got to choose from either ground cars or airplanes. anyway, gettin back on topic, i need some games for this system, i need a list of genuinely good games, i refuse to put crappy games in my list * sorry its just a policy * unless that crappy game is from a franchise i love * like sonic or full metal alchemist * so plz help, oh and if anyone knows the game i mentioned above, plz tell me what its called :)

I think you're describing Toy Commander.

Good'uns

  • Seaman
  • Sword of the Berserk
  • Last Blade 2
  • Grandia 2
  • Skies of Arcadia

Don't forget Marvel vs Capcom 2! I think it's less rare on the Dreamcast as it is on the PS2 & Xbox.

Well, this is kind of my area of expertise, so here's what I think is worth going after...

Bangai-O- It's a side-scrolling robot shooter. The game graphically actually looks very unimpressive on the detail-level, but the amount of enemies, bullets, missles, etc on the screen at once is INSANE! And without slowdown. It's a really fun game and worth going after.

Demolition Racer: No Exit- This one is a personal favorite of mine because of how easy to find & cheapto own the game is ($10 new is more than doable) and also provides a really fun experience. You basically drive around in demolition derby events & races. It's kind of like a Burnout predecessor.

Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves- The last game in the Fatal Fury (Garou) fighting game series, it hasn't been released in America in any collections or on any of the online stores and quite honestly, it's a same, because it's easily the best game in the series.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica- Probably my favorite game in the entire RE series. If you like the old style RE games, the DC one provided the smoothest experience and also had a lot of gameplay & extras. Totally worth getting and still way fun to play.

Sonic Adventure 2- Last great console Sonic game.

Soul Calibur- It was rated a 10 by a lot of sites and for good reason. Lots of characters, unlockables, extra modes... it has it all.

Tech Romancer- Do you like giant anime robots? Do you like fighting giant anime robots? Well if you said YES to etiher of these, get this game!

Based on pricing on Ebay it is tue that there is less demand for the DC version. Critically it is considered the best, and was the one I chose to get. Digital Press gives it a R2 in terms of rarity.

As waffle would have put it, Sony's anti-sega marketing campaign from the PS1 days had doomed the Dreamcast before it even began.

Great game, the dreamcast version of Resident Evil 2 also had lots of extra galleries and artwork unlockables that weren't featured on the original Resi2 ps1, N64 or GC release, I think they were on the dualshock version in the US though...

Also did I read the whole thread right and no one mentioned Shenmue I & II?

I'd toss in Ecco The Dolphin for good measure. That game is gorgeous plus dolphins are really cute.

Shenmue, a friend of mine swears that's the best game on the Dreamcast.

Ikaruga

The thing that makes it hard for me to justify getting a Dreamcast, is that quite a few of the good games have been ported to other systems, so I don't feel a strong need to get the Dreamcast
