Poll: Vote to decide the future of the CCU

with Unions and UCBs going down for good, it has come to a choice, go with the flow and potentally lose any trace of the union or start a new site on proboards that will possibly resemble  our beloved CCU.

I have already started backing up all the articles in case we do start a new site... so we won't have lost all the work we did here.

 i didnt mean the sign up process. its the traffic. it was already difficult to invite through the forums on a gaming website. i wonder if people are still willing to join even if its just boards without an extensive gaming website attached to it

well, that's really their choice... but IGN and Gamespot are no longer suitable to house this type of thing...

did you try contacting them personally through other means? it sucks to let this group die because gs doesnt support us anymore

I started a new forum for us, it's still a work in progress but I hope to have everything transferred over by next month... then I'll work on making it look better.

How are you saving articles? Manually, one by one? Ugh!

This is why I thought something like scrapy would be good to use.. then we could get ALL past articles, in all threads.. (I thought it would be fun some day to go back through the new acquisition threads and tally up numbers of games that everyone bought, - and maybe produce some stats around how much members spent on games.) I can't see this being possible if the method of saving is manual though.

Does anyone know of a tool that would help save all the threads in a semi-automated way?
