I wanted to know what others have had for experiences with ebay.  Everytime I buy something the product always seems to differ slightly from the description.  For example I just bought a supposedly new virtua cop for the sega saturn.  It had the original box and stunner gun.  The actual game was indeed sealed but the box had bends and creases and a fairly large brown stain on one corner.  That to me doesn't constitute new.  The game was sealed but I pretty sure it was pulled from a bundled system when the game had been included with the Saturn.  I only say this because the case says "not for resale".

I have had only one mediocre experiance from ebay, and the item got lost in the mail, what pissed me off is the fact it took them 30 + days just to get my money, back, but the company was very nice to me and sent me Last Bronx free of charge!

I just ordered ikaruga though and i cant wait to finally try that game.

It was definitely pulled from a bundle, good assessment.

I have had some bad experiences as well. I've purchased lots that were missing some of the promised stuff and I've gotten bilked on S/H charges a few times. I've gotten games that were DOA. The worst thing for me is when items are described inaccurately, and I don't mean differences of opinion on what "mint" means (although that bothers me, too). I mean the seller says, "complete with map and instructions" and you get the disc in a generic jewel case. Or "Gamecube A/V cables" and you get Xbox cables, stuff that's indefensibly wrong. For the most part, my experience with eBay has been positive. I won't buy anything without pictures any more, though, since I've been burned too many times. You have to be careful even with photos sometimes, though, b/c a lot of eBay stores re-use pictures and they always use the most enticing.

I've been disappointed more than once, as you can check from my entry in the Halloween Contest thread.

The ones that annoy me the most are the perfectly mint games that arrive exactly as pictured -- but smell like stale cigarettes (for those not familiar, the same smell as almost every motel room and rental car in America).

I recently got accused of defaulting on payment (but I didn't) for two Saturn games that I ordered.  Asided from that every other experience has been positive.

I don't buy from eBay much, but I've never had any problems when I do.
