Do you remember where you got every game and for how much? I do, and I think that is kind of weird, cause I have more than I should be able to remember.  But when I look down the list of games, I can actually remember which Gamestop/ pawn shop/ ebay or swap meet I found the game and how much I paid (or close to it).

There has got to be better things my brain can be storing.

Not even close.  Some of my games I got when I was a very young kid, so I have no idea where they came from.  But then again, I can't even remember what I ate for breakfast so that might not mean much.  If I catch a deal, overpay, or come up with something special I'll remember generic statistics and approximations.  But if I just go buy a game at Wal-Mart, I'll forget where I bought it and how much I paid for it almost immediately.

Most of my SNES games, yeah.  My XBox games...no.  At least I dodn't think so.  And I've been collecting SNES titles for a longer period.  Although computer games, quite possibly.

Mostly, yes.  There have been times that I've cleaned up or gone through a storage box and found a game or several and thought, "When did I get this/these?"  The same as JR: if it's noteworthy, it sticks with me, but if it's mundane or part of a lot, the likelihood drops.

I remember where I buy alot of my newer games, and how I came to get some of the older games, but alot of my stuff is gifts so I don't know where everything came from.

I remember what category most of my games fall into. For instance, I can differentiate between a GB game that I saved up money for myself so that I could buy at K-Mart and the ones I got as a gift. Not just by use, I can also differentiate between games I got used and ones I purchased myself at release.

I have a hard enough time remembering the games I do or do not have, let alone where, when, and for how much I purchased them for.  (And I only have around 370 games.  I can't fathom having over two thousand like some people here. :P)

When I was at Best Buy, I had to stare at the Final Fantasy V and VI GBA games to remember if I had already bought them or not.  I knew I had IV already, and I was sure I didn't have VI, but for the life of me I couldn't remember if I had V yet or not.  Turns out I don't yet.

Glancing over my games though, I can remember the details of most of the purchases.  The price is the first thing I forget, then "when" I got it, and finally "where" I got it goes last from memory.  Usually.

I can remember purchasing sources for many of my games, especially the ones that were "first" purchases. Games I rebought (e.g. replacing my older games that were lost when I was younger) I don't remember as much detail about.

I don't remember everything, I do remember some key purchases, like when I first bought Tie Fighter and played all night. Or when I bought Starcraft. However, for the last two years I've kept track of everything I bought, location and price. So I will always be able to remember now.

I remember that and how much games usually go for the market new and used...it's actually a good skill for a bargain hunter like me to have. So, if you can do the same thing, it'll actually benefit you as a collector...and your wallet.

I do remember where I get everything and usually how much I paid.  Like Miller I can usually remember games that have some value and pick those out.
