If you been reading my blogs and postings in the New Acquisitions thread, you prolly know I've been picking up some nice PSone games and N64 games - so I got an idea for a topic. I'm wondering what you think a N64 collector/System owner should own game wise. I'm not really asking for which ones are the rare games (since most usually kowwhat the rare ganes are), more of the games that maybe be common to not-so-common, that you think I, or others should pick up.

I got my own list, but it's always nice to compare notes with others, if you get my idea. since the some I'm getting these N64 games at has a ton (and I mean a ton) of N64 carts, I'd figured it be a nice time to get some ideas. :P

Hey, at least it's a different topic from the usual here at CCU. xD And who knows, this will prolly help us all out.

I really wish I could help out on this one, but I know exceptionally little about N64 games.  I will however be very interested to see what others have to input on the matter though. :)

N64 is prolly one of the systems that I don't know much about as other systems - mainly because very few people talk about the games - at least the "outside of the norm" games. Even my Nintendo fans friends don't talk much about it other then pokemon, Mario Kart, and the Nintendo 1st party games for it. I crave to know more then "Hey you, Pikachu!" :P

*sigh* I'm not a huge N64 guy because I didn't get one untill christmas 2001... anyway, that being said I suggest F-Zero X, Paper Mario, Conkers Bad Fur Day, Ogre Battle 64, Banjo Kazooie, Glover, Pokémon Puzzle League, Dr Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros., Mischief Makers, Harvest Moon 64, Snowboard Kids, Starcraft 64, Donkey Kong 64, Duke Nukem: Zero Hour.

and if you like wrestling I suggest WCW/nWo Revenge as it was the best of the generation IMO

That's a good list.  I'd like to add Blast Corp, and, if you like that sort of thing, the Turok games.  They didn't suck back then.

In the 'don't miss the forest for the trees' category goes Mario 64.

Cruisn' World -- Nintendo still has the agreement with Midway, so the N64 is the only place you will find home versions of the arcade series Cruisn'.  World is better than both Cruisn' USA or Exotica (which is god-awful).

Rush 2: Extreme Racing -- Fun multiplayer in stunt mode. If you don't know people who could enjoy a multiplayer stunt game from 9 years ago then Rush 2049 for the Dreamcast (not PS2) would be a better choice.

Super Smash Brothers is solid.

Paper Mario is closest to Super Mario RPG than any Paper Mario game ever will be from this point forward. Still not as good as the SNES must-own though.

Though I have not played them Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask and Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time are considered by many to be seminole gaming experiences. I'd pick them up for the Gamecube for collecting purposes rather than on the N64.

Quake for the N64 is an interesting experience. I'd get that just for the quirk value.

Last year I sold a N64 and like 10 games (good ones like Zelda, mario kart, goldeneye, Super Mario 64) for $20 Im so angry at myself. Now I will probably have to spend ALOT more to get them all back...except perhaps Zelda I didn't like that one :P

Before you buy any games, get teh Booster/Expansion pak.

My recommendations are:

Perfect Dark

Goldeneye

Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Turok: Dinosaur Hunter

Turok 2

Turok 3

Top Gear Overdrive

F-Zero X

Ogre Battle 64 (will be expensive)

Resident Evil 2

Fighter's Destiny 1

Fighter's Destiny 2

Project Winback

That's really all I can think of from my previous N64 collection that I really liked.  I'd add Turok Rage Wars, but the two-player co-op mode is broken.

I suggest every n64 player to have an expansion pak, one of the first things I bought for my n64 when I got it in 2000 (via donkey kong 64).

I got an expansion pak as soon as it came out. I have 27 N64 games, it you want, go to my profile and check them out, and you might decide to pick some of them up. It's not a fancy N64 collection, but I've got allot of good ones

I've played Pokemon Puzzle League on N64 god it was fun! I am thinking about getting the GBC one though, it got a higher score :) Goldeneye hasn't aged very well, I remember multiplayer being the greatest gaming experience as a kid but playing it last  year...it was terrible :(

Here's mine at 38 games. It's beefed up a lot more (and now my collection can help others decide what they should get too :P). Thanks for all the posts and suggestions ;)

Pokemon Puzzle Challenge is sort of an underrated game on the GBC (because it came out shortly before the GBA or around the time frame when it came out, memory is foggy.) But once you play it, you can't deny, it's one of the best GBC games.

The first party stuff is what I recomend the most.  Paper mario is extraordinary.  And as Wafle said the Wrestling games, either WCW or WWE are considered the best wrestling games ever made.
