Thought I'd spruce up with a new topic. :P
So what are your current collecting goal(s)? Mine is (rather simple at the momment) to complete the Xbox 360 launch collection (just 6 games shy now). What's yours?

Hmm. I've ramped back my collecting quite a bit due to various pressures (time, money and illness mostly), but some goals still stand. To finally get a hold of all those classics I am still lacking... Zelda 3, the rest of the Castlevanias, Super Metroid, etc. Also to splash out on those premium-price RPGs such as Suikoden I & II (though they are far beyond my budget).
Other than that, I'd say to play more games to completion!
Collecting goals for me. Well since it appears I'll be out of the US for some time I am going to focus on occasional purchases of items from my wish list (since my collecting will be limited to what I can get online).
So rather than dropping $120 on bulk buys at Fry's every weekend I'll be buying things like Pepsiman for the JP PS1 for $60. This is kind of where I have been the last few weeks as it has become more difficult to find XB and PS2 games in the wild that I don't already have.
So rares and quirky for me for a while.
I don't know if I'd call it a goal, but before the year is out I won't mind bringing the collection up to a respectable 1000. I'm at 881 right now, so I'd have to bring in a lot over the rest of this year.
As far as some sub goals. I'd really like to finish my Romance of the Three Kingdoms PS2 collection (i've got 7-9 need the last two). And I'd like to get more of the Dynasty Warriors titles.
I'd also like to pick up a SNES sometime this year and start in on that system as well. My collection is very heavily slanted to current and last gen (except my PC games) and I would like to go back in time some more. Problem is with me is I'm really picky. I've yet to buy an N64 game without the box and manual (which is why I only have 4) because I can't bring myself to start buying standalone carts.
My goal is to collect 200 Genesis before I turn 20. Right now I am short 40 games, I been searching all over the place for these games but I haven't had any luck yet. :(-DarthMaul-Get on ebay :|

I had nothing to add. I was agreeing. :-p your face is spam :-p
Well, for the most part I agree with jollyroger78, but on top of that my ultimate goal is to own the entire US NES collection! I have a long way to go, only owning 170, but I have many of the more expensive and hard to find games, so if I buy cheap games in bulk I know I can do it! I can't really remember how many total games there are, I think something like 810 released in the states. My immediate goal is of course 200 NES games and 600 total games! With possibly almost triple my family income on the way I'd say this is all very possible indeed!!! 8)
768 is the commonly-accepted number of US-released NES games, with another 30 or so from Sachen. I've got nearly 400 of them, but I can't say that getting them all is a goal. However, I did just find a copy of the more-common version of Maxi-15 that I'll probably snag. It's still got the plastic clamshell, but the label is not very good.Well, for the most part I agree with jollyroger78, but on top of that my ultimate goal is to own the entire US NES collection! My current goals are to crush my enemies, to see them driven before me and to hear the lamentation of their women. With game collecting.
Get on ebay :|
Dzjaansis
I am in college right now, so I am kind of low on money so the flee market is probably my best option. To be quite honest I never used ebay before. :?
[QUOTE="gmsnpr"]Is that from something? It sounds really familiar to me.My current goals are to crush my enemies, to see them driven before me and to hear the lamentation of their women. With game collecting.

Conan the Barbarian.
Collect all turbo grafx-16 games released in America. So far I've aquired 50+ in the past month, gone through 4 systems, aquired a CD addon, turbo booster, and all the official accessories, an extension cable, 2 arcade sticks and 6 controllers, one unopened unused and gotten an import adapter, cd card and 2 import cd games.
Ive actually only paid about $300 in all after reselling parts I don't need.
I really need to get pics up and after I get my next 2 lots in I plan on taking lots of pics. I find it pretty crazy that its only taken me a month to get where I am, but games that I don't have are beginning to get harder to find and more expensive...
Another goal of mine is to either:
- Get one of those foot-high SNES PAL/NTSC adaptors that actually works with most games (mine sucks),
- Mod my SNES, or
- Get a US 'boxy' SNES
And then buy Super Mario RPG and all those other lovely SNES RPGs... :D
Firstly, of course, I'll have to find a wad of cash in the street or down the back of the sofa or in my sock.
and I want to achieve 200 games in my collection to get the "collectors" Emblem from GS. Big_Evil666
What is this collectors emblem you are referring to?
My game collection goal is to get all the games on my wish list. Of course, as new games come out, some of them get added to my wish list, so even if I got all the games on my wish list tomorrow, there will be new games that come out that I will want and my collecting will continue. So in a nutshell, my collecting will continue as long as there are games that I want that I don't already have.

It's an emblem for your GameSpot profile. You get it for having a certain amount of games in your collection.
