Your rarest game owned (by Gamespot numbers)

Check your collection list and post the game that you have that has the fewest registered users! This is a great way to figure the rarest game you own and to get a little recognition for a hard to find or overlooked title! If you have several rare games (by the numbers at Gamespot) list them all! Not only will it bring some awarness (if you didn't already know) to the fact the game or games are rare, but it will probably also spawn some awareness to fellow game collectors! I am always looking to buy overlooked or hard to find games, so maybe this list can give some of us new targets to try and aquire!!! 8)

Quick search of the most probable candidates revealed that all of them but one are in the database, and that one is...

Taz-Mania 2, for the original Game Boy.

More searching indicates that they are also missing the following:

Some of those are compilations. Some I'm very surprised about, too. I'd have thought stuff like X-Wing and some NES games like Digger T. Rock would have more users. It's nice to see those NES Codemasters games are still obscure as anything, relatively speaking of course. And Kick Off and Elite as PAL-only NES releases are of course tending towards the rarer end of things.

Alien Logic is a great little RPG from the early 90s, very unique. And Descent to Undermountain is way underrated, despite the bugs and rubbish game engine.

Edit: I updated this to include all my games under 100 users. There's more than I thought, but I'm not one to leave things unfinished :P

And for comparison: Final Fantasy X (PS2) - 56757 users...

This thread made me track down all these old obscure games I've had for ages and added...21 games to my collection list....:o...and that's only the beginning. I could well have 325 games and just not realized it.

Well, as I seem to understand a lot of the time a game shows only 1 registered user, and that one user is you (me, him, her, etc. etc.), it may very well be a glitch at gamespot, because I posted in the "offtopic thread" that it showed I was the only registered user of Barkley Shut Up and Jam 2 for the Genesis, which I knew just couldn't be right! I do not own Grand Slam, and you may very well be the only regestired user, but you never know. All your games that have less than 100 regestered users are the games I am interested in, because that way even if a few games listed are just technical errors, chances are a couple of them are not! I hope I cleared up any confusion this thread may have created! Thank you for all the posts, keep em coming, and at the end maybe I will start a new thread about aquisition of these rare or hard to find games! I'm also glad this thread has helped some dig out some old games to add to their lists... I mean that's what its all about right? 8)

Have a look at one of the many threads addressing rarity that we've already made.

I would ask that any member with a great idea for a thread check to see that there isn't already one just like it. BigC made a "what's your rarest" thread only a few months back, so there is a more recent example to look at than the one I just linked.

When in doubt, use the search function or look over the board.

Golden Axe: Beast Rider (360) 26 users. Actually this is a glitch, because the retro Golden Axe was mistaken for Beast Rider, which is the new one coming out later this year. I left it as is because it was funny that I have a pre-release game in my collection.

Wits & Wagers (360) 8 users

Game of Life (Mobile) 5 users

Oh, and I'd say this is a little different from the thread I made because of the whole user thing, so it's interesting...

I have 13 games that are listed in less than 100 collections. I have 3 that are in under 20. Those three are:

Seems like a bunch under 10 users for me, but the most rare are:

I have six complete copies of this game, seems to come in every bulk Saturn buy I get, thought tons of people would have it.

Only 90? Its Koei I figured this group alone would have 90 copies.

It could be interesting to see how people's least popular games change over time, maybe some obscure titles get a sudden revival... Of course the most popular games seem to change with every big release. Halo 2 dominated back then, my money's on GTAIV getting there someday.

I updated my least popular list on the first page to include everything under 100 users. There were more than I thought when I started :roll: Some surprises there though.

Digital Partner Wonderswan- 1 user. It's a digimon title for the Wonderswan monochrome, it includes a special attachment for the handheld.

Bust-A-Move NeoGeo CD - 2 users. It's not really bust-a-move though, its Puzzle Bobble, weird.

Go Go Ackman 3 SNES - 2 users. Funny, fun, and weird platformer series where, as far as i can tell, youre an evil child killing angels and our pet demon grabs their souls. In this particular episode you are kidnapped, along with the lead angel, by a gigantic leatherclad moustachioed homosexual, and you must work together to escape his love.

Magical Drop III Saturn - 3 users.

The Yakyuu Ken Special: Konya wa 12-kai Ikusa Saturn - 3 users. Totally worth getting an import capable Saturn.

Mutation Nation NeoGeo CD - 4 users. I loved this game in the arcade, surprised more NGCD users dont have it.

3 Ninjas Kick Back/Hook Sega CD - 6 users.

Battle Robot Retsuden SNES - 7 users. Great giant robot tactical game.

Mr. Do!'s Castle Colecovision - 11 users. surprised how few players on here registered Colecovision games.

The Heist Colecovision - 12 users

Robin Hood Colecovision - 15 users.

Shin Megami Tensei II SNES - 17 users. I'm sorta surprised by how few have this, but kinda not, since it wasnt translated as far as I know (not officially anyways)

Actually, C&C for PS is such a rare game there are negative numbers of copies in existence...

... but truthfully, the numbers do bug out sometimes. I think C&C for PS is actually quite popular.

hahaha, i know, I wouldn't have suggested for a second that it's absoloutely any kind of rarity at all, people frequently buy copies of it off ebay for 99p, it's just gamespot been glitchy as usual, haven't seen it do that before though :)

Yeah, it might be a bit easier to find here in Britland. Not exactly common, but I've seen a fair few copies of both HOMM 1 and 2 over the last couple of years. It's all region-free anyway, so it makes little difference where you get it from :P

Might get myself a copy, even though I recently bought the uber-exclusive PCWorld mega boxed set with all the PC games and expansions and various doohickeys and it's driving me nuts in every way imaginable... :roll:

Yeah, that surprised me as well. That and the last Final Fantasy XI expansion. I know the game has been around for a while now, but I figured there would be more gamespot players than that. Unless they're on the PS2 or 360 version.
