An idea for 2007........F1PU-Live

I have come up with this idea as a way to improve activity and excitement during a GP weekend :)

Overview

F1PU-Live will be a safe and controlled java chatroom, which will be available exclusively to F1PU members. The chatroom will be opened during free practice, qualifying and the race, so members can discuss the race weekend and each event as it happens with eachother live.

The chatroom will be closed when the event taking place ends (practice, qualy or race) and all further discussions will take place on this board. (This is so people dont always use the chatroom, but also post on the boards.)

I know this can be done, as a guy i used to know used freewebs and implemented a java chat on it. Im a complete novice when it comes to this sorta thing, so im not sure if thats the best way, and im not even sure how to do it. So if i get permission to go ahead with this, i will need all the help i get from people who have experience with websites.

Obviously i wont go ahead  until i get feedback and until i know if people will actually use it, and if i get permission, so PLEASE give as much feedback to this as possible, all criticisms and queries are welcome :)

NOTE: This is just a basic overview so people get the general idea. I will give more information, if more interest is generated in the idea.

Its great but I would rather be talking before and afterwards, maybe the chat room should be open for lets say 30 mins before, during, and 1 hour after the event(or more in case the event is the race it self). I dont know about other people but when F1 is on Im fully concentrated on my tv and nothing else so I wont be chatting during the event but its a good idea though.cm_gamer-2

i think its a good idea but my only concern is we might loose activity on the union if we talk about the race/practice ect on livechat. instead of heremjk1
