PRESS RELEASE 2: Ali, McLaren Mercedes
We did well in the qualifing session; taking the 3rd and 4th postions. I have to admit that Honda's performance is impressive, yet I still believe that we'll have the edge in the race. We have a stratgey set, and if everything goes well, then we should be able to earn 2 spots on the podium. I'll be fighting for the 1st position of course, I just hope that we'll not experience engines' problems.
I am disappointed in my Qualifying. I thought I had the setup right...but obviously I didn't. Being Stuck behind the Midland's could cause a problem but I am confident I can pass Johnson & Ekberg going into the first corner. I think Honda have the edge for the race but...Never rule me out for a podium. Our engine has been posing a problem but I am confident we can put this bad qualifying behind us and concentrate on having a good clean finish. I did have the car setup right but..On my first lap I was caught in traffic, the second I made a mistake due to traffic and on the third lap..I just wasn't on the pace. Things are looking good for tomorrow and I am very confident

First let me explain the solo driver decision we made. Over the winter we could not find anyone near quick enough for our tastes, so that led us to decide that 1 driver for the season would be better suited for our team. Bahrain has been good to us so far with very steady times. We have found some stuff looking through some old testing that I believe will help catapult us to a solid podium finish.
