Lewis Scoring Pole is good thing. but by 4 tenths, although Alonso's Mistake into the final chicane cost him 3 tenths. we'll have to see what happens

Tomorrow's ITV coverage:

55 minutes of Lewis Hamilton, then they realise there's 21 other drivers to talk about, but decide against it and do 5 more minutes of Lewis Hamilton, then the race.

But I'm glad to see him get pole, good day for Brits - Lewis gets pole and I see a Renault R27 in Wellingborough :D

A lot of people were going off today, I wonder if this'll happen during the race tomorrow (albeit I don't think so, the track will have rubbered in more) and if it does, could be interesting...

Could be a bit heavier on Fuel, but they key factor will be, if Nick can keep ahead of the Ferraris. if he can McLaren will stomp away with it.

Well, anything can happen in Canada - look at 2005 for example. 3 out of the 4 main drivers that year didn't finish (Alonso, Fisichella and Montoya) and even Button, inB.A.R's uncompetetive season, ran third until he smacked the Wall Of Champions (I still hope it means future champions too... lol). Let's hope today proves to be interesting!

wont matter - either way, mclarens gona dominate 8)

Im willing to bet that one of the main 4 will slam into the wall of champions, and james allen will be like "OMG its a sign?!?!?" If its lewis he'll probly shoot himself.....

Wonder what James Allen would do if Lewis lead the race by a country mile, only to bin it in the Wall of Champions on the last lap? =P

P.S. here's to hoping he doesn't!

Here's to Kubica's speedy recovery, that was a horrid crash. Not what you'd want in just your 12th GP start...

Good win for Lewis, Alonso was too aggressive yet AGAIN and paid for it - you would've thought after Spain he would've learnt...

Honda again pulling out stupid tactics - why not pull Rubens in DURING the safety car period when the pits were open? (Maybe I should change my support to McLaren and Hamilton...)

Fisichella and Massa... hmmm... deserved being black flagged for doing what they did, but then again the green light should've been on earlier because there weren't any cars around at the time...

Oooh, my race report is going to be juicy today!

Sato, Hamilton and Wurz performed absolutely amazingly.. you never could've predicted that race result in a million years. I'd like to see some onboard footage of Kubica's crash, as the contact with another car wasn't clear from the long distance camera. This is an awfully dangerous track sometimes, but still, the race proved to be very entertaining.

it looked like he clipped Trulli's Car, and sent him spearing off into that wall. he was lucky to walk away with a broken leg, that i can safely say.

I'm sure our best wishes go to him for a speedy recovery. i'm sure he won't race at least until Hungary or Belgium, Sebastian Vetell i presume will take the wheel of that car.

The crash ripped open the front of the car, exposing his legs.. possibly the reason he broke his leg:

It sure was! I can't remember the last time there were so many safety cars in a race. Also, latest reports on Kubica suggest he may even be a chance to take part in Indianapolis. Supposedly, the initial reports of a broken leg were false and he has a mild concussion and a sprained ankle instead. With only 1 week between races, I really can't see him taking part next week, particularly with the concussion, but it's great news that his injuries are so minor, because I haven't seen a crash like that in F1 for quite some time.

Yeah it's ironic that as soon as Raikkonen leaves, the team develops a better car and leapfrogs Ferarri and Renault (who have completely screwed themselves now).

maybe its bcause raikkonen sucks at giving proper feedback and developing the car....while alonso has just come from a double WCC...also mercedes have caught themselves on....for now at least

I hope Kimi can bounce back!

Renault however.... Why'd they change their front wing for Canada the way the did? Hellloooooo the upper profile generates very very little drag, that said without it they did better :D

http://www.f1-live.com/f1/en/headlines/news/detail/070611165432.shtml

VexxatuVexx

The headline is severely twisted.. he never actually says it was a lucky win, he says he was lucky the safety car rules didn't catch him out like they did to Alonso.. he's right.. if Hamilton had been fuelled slightly longer, he'd need fuel when the safety car came out; he'd have to pit or run out of fuel, and get a penalty like Alonso did. Hamilton was very lucky in this sense. But his pace was amazing, and he made no mistakes. The same can't be said for Alonso.

It was a good race

Renault isn't getting any closer to the BMW's
