For the first time in nearly three and a half years, the Formula One Passion Union runs a game night!

To celebrate the launch of F1 2010, the new game by CodeMasters, there will be a game night for members of the union to race online to see who truly is the best of the best!

If you wish to participate, please say so in this thread, along with when you would be available to take part so that a date and time can be announced in the near future.

I am happy to take part. Possibly the saturday after launch and it would be evening time that day but I am happy to be flexible on the times as long as its not too late. Also I can do weekdays but again not late night and I would need to be off earlier as I work early mornings so I dont play the xbox late week days or Sunday night.

Maybe we could use the race circuit for the release weekend to give it a bit more of a hype to it?

Cool beans. Any thoughts on what teams/rules we may use? I mean I expect we will have more than one race with each other but I would like to see a realistic performance grid rather than balanced out cars.

Ya I think the chances for any cross platform online would be PS3 - PC since 360 is more closed off since it's a pay service.And Microsoft is pretty strict about it.

But the only game that I can think of that will have that is Final Fantasy XIV, because it's all based from online servers. It would be sweet but I don't expect it to happen for other games.

Looks like im going to have to go and purchase this, im skint (well, sort of!) but F1 takes priority over my credit card bills!!

Right, looking at the options available for online gaming in F1 2010, here's my proposals of what the settings should be:

Race Settings
Session Scoring: Championship
Participation: Either Qualification and Race or Race Only. This is dependant on people's preferences.
Race Distance: 30%
Starting Grid: Qualification Results (If Participation is Qualification and Race), or Random (If Participation is Race Only).
Car Assignment: Random
Weather Setting: Dynamic
Track Selection: Whatever circuit you are at in the Championship.

Simulation Settings
Rules & Flags: Realistic
Tyre Wear: On
Fuel Load Simulation: On
Car Damage: Full
Car Performance: 2010
Collisions: Full

Assist Restrictions
In order to allow people to drive to their comfort, All assists would be allowed except the Dynamic Racing Line.

Session Settings
Max Players: 12
Privacy: Invite Only (Please ensure Redders1989 (360) or kipi19 (PS3) has your details to be able to invite you)
Minimum Online Rank: 1
Maximum Online Rank: 50

Cool stuff Mr Redders. I am in agreement with the settings you have said. Although maybe we keep the racing line for the corners only if that is possible so as to avoid people steaming into the back of others on the new tracks (there must be at least 3 if not more I have never raced on in a game and I dont fancy zooming into the back of somebody).

Right folks, we need to get somewhere with this. It seems the majority of you are up for this on Friday nights - which is kinda awkward given I either travel home or work most Friday nights :lol:

Here's my suggestion then: It still gives plenty of time to people to practice, get used to cars and whatnot, but for me I believe it'll be the first Friday night I'll be able to do. The first one I can make, I believe, is Friday, 5th November. If that's good with you guys, then lemme know and then we can sort out a time as to when we can do it, so anyone from different parts of the World can still join in.

Looking at the entry list, I think the only non-EU player is XSFX atm. What is your +/- to GMT, so I can sort a suitable time out?

I should point out that because I do work Friday/Saturday nights, I can't promise weekly/fortnightly to do a whole season, but anytime that I do stay in Leicester for a weekend then I'll set a night up. Obviously during Christmas time we can also sort nights during the week to help speed things up a bit.

I wasn't happy with that penalty in the last race but pushing you off at that hairpin couldn't of helped my cause :(
