.:: F1PU - The winter returns... ::.

And so, the chequered flag has fallen in Abu Dhabi, and another thrilling season is over. F1's 60th season has crowned its 31st World Champion in Jenson Button, and now the racetracks become quiet yet again.

However, the news just keeps on comin' and the F1PU keeps on rollin'... but we still haven't convinced Fred Durst to join us.

Nonetheless the F1PU reaches a fantastic 5 years in business next year, and 2010 promises to be a bigger year than ever: 26 drivers, 13 teams, and one top-notch union reaching a landmark very few unions will ever achieve here on GameSpot.

So the union doesn't go for quittin' time - we've got news, games and entertainment for all as we count down the remaining 132 days until the season opener in Bahrain!

F1PU 2010: What to look forward to

1. The return of the Winter Simulated Season: The thread will soon be opened for the 2009/2010 WSS, and it'll be time once again to pick those lucky numbers to represent you as the guys go virtual racing for glory! Last year, Redders and Giancarlo Fisichella took the honours, but who will take it this year? If you want it to be you, you gotta join in to have a chance!
2. F1PU Caption This! Quote of the Year: There were some good quotes over the past twelve months, but the time has come to decide whose quote was the best of all in 2009. On December 1st the doors open for voting, and by the end of the month another name will be added to the Hall of Fame.
3. F1PU Banner Competition: December 1st will be a busy day for me. Doors are opened for entries into the annual F1PU banner competition, with the winner gracing the top of our union for the whole of 2010. Rules and regulations to be posted when the thread comes around, so don't miss out if you're an avid master of the photography-editing kind!
4. 2010 Driver Updates: Ongoing for months now, stick with the F1PU for the latest as driver announcements are made. As I write this, we expect Williams' announcement on their 2010 line-up today. Do you need more proof? Well we don't have a full grid yet, so of course there's more names to come!
5. 2010 Car Releases: The F1PU will be there when cars are released as well, with our expert KimisApprentice analysing each car and giving his expert opinion.
6. Follow the progress of USF1, Campos, Manor, Lotus and Sauber: Need I say any more?
7. The usual games continue: Unlikely headlines, F1 quiz, musical chairs, pass the parcel, Simon says... whoops, went too far.
8. And much, much more!: ...erm, how can I add to this?

It's simple enough. Just because F1 fades out the limelight doesn't mean we do. The only active Formula One union in GameSpot, as well as the only place to see The Red Light, Kip's Bite and... KA's Technical Analysis which has yet to gain a title of its own. If you've got a question, the F1PU team's got an answer.

So go forth and spread the word: we at the F1PU are here to stay, we at the F1PU want more people here, and we at the F1PU are becoming GameSpot legends!

The Formula One Passion Union 2010: 5 Years and still going strong!

We could also start a new season of BATracermjk1

That would be a good move. Whomever out BATracer guy is (is it bad I don't know one particular leader for this event?), it'd be good to set up another season as it's been a while.

I believe a sign up thread for a new game had been set up by someone but i don't think i got very far, still i could dig it out and see how many people would be interested this time

I don't know if anyone has seen this already, but I regret to say that BATracer is currently down due to infringement of Ferrari copyright. So a new game might have to be put on hold for the moment, especially as it may be difficult to restart F1 games, which have Ferrari in them.

KA I love your idea about the Analysis of each cars development, that would be fantastic :)
