Such is the issues with Vettel's reliability and Webber's driving in Australia, Renault are equal on points with them thanks to Kubica's 2nd place.

Actually, a lot of people were for Massa in that race. There was only a minority that wanted a Hamilton title win - I was in the minority

Mark Webber leads the Drivers Championship for the first time in his career. Would be the same for Vettel, were they equal on wins.

If you exclude the new teams, the only driver yet to score a point is Pedro de la Rosa, who has had two 11th place finishes as it is.

If it wasn't for the 5-second penalty, de la Rosa would've left only the 6 drivers in the new teams left to score points. As it is, he still remains the only driver from an established team yet to score.

Funny how one race can change things around. Felipe Massa, who had never scored one DotD vote so far this year, scores 6 in Germany and jumps straight to 4th.

Almost unbelievably, Hamilton scores his first three votes for Star of the Day at the Belgian GP. Webber still leads both categories though, however it is Hamilton that leads the drivers championship.

Oooh I have a suggestion. Could we possibly start an idiot of the day for the race feature or "facepalm moment of the day" such as when a driver randomly goes out of the race or something like that. Not to be mean but as a humour kind of thing.

Vettel's impressive performance in Italy pushes him closer to the top of the Driver of the Year award, but Webber is still a country mile ahead in the Star of the Year award.

Now this is quite interesting. Just done calculations on how the 2010 season would look under the old points system, and here's where they would stand at the moment:

1. Lewis Hamilton (McLaren, 75 pts.)
2. Mark Webber (Red Bull, 74 pts.)
3. Fernando Alonso (Ferrari, 67 pts.)
4. Jenson Button (McLaren, 67 pts.)
5. Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull, 66 pts.)
6. Felipe Massa (Ferrari, 50 pts.)
7. Nico Rosberg (Mercedes, 43 pts.)
8. Robert Kubica (Renault, 42 pts.)
9. Michael Schumacher (Mercedes, 15 pts.)
10. Adrian Sutil (Force India, 15 pts.)
11. Rubens Barrichello (Williams, 10 pts.)
12. Vitaly Petrov (Renault, 6 pts.)
13. Kamui Kobayashi (BMW-Sauber, 6 pts.)
14. Nico Hulkenberg (Williams, 5 pts.)
15. Vitantonio Liuzzi (Force India, 2 pts.)
16. Pedro de la Rosa (BMW-Sauber, 2 pts.)
17. Sebastien Buemi (Toro Rosso, 1 pt.)

Yet to score: ALG, TRU, KOV, SEN, CHD, YAM, HEI, GLO, DIG

Not much difference, although the main point is, as you can see, Hamilton would still be leading the championship (and would not have lost it since he got it in Turkey). Interesting to note too that, excluding Heidfeld who's yet to race, Alguersuari would be the only driver from the established teams yet to score a point.

In the constructors:

1. McLaren (142 pts.)
2. Red Bull (140 pts.)
3. Ferrari (117 pts.)
4. Mercedes GP (58 pts.)
5. Renault (48 pts.)
6. Force India (17 pts.)
7. Williams (15 pts.)
8. BMW-Sauber (8 pts.)
9. Toro Rosso (1 pt.)

Yet to score: Lotus, HRT, Virgin

Again, little change but McLaren would be the Constructors Championship leaders rather than Red Bull.

He has been for me though, whilst the top teams have been infighting he has got on with the job and been the driver doing the most overtaking that was not lapping I would guess.

I must agree with Garfield. Kamui is the only drive to drive his car this year. I can't think of any driver in recent years to really go after it in multiple races. He has had a 2008 Vettelesque season. Start off quite bad, but score points constantly by the end. Win in a wet Brazil? Or better yet, a wet Abby Dabby?

I really hope so. I want him to get a win either this season or not too far into the future as I think he could be a big name in the future given the right car as he has that drive to go more.

If Both McLaren drivers wanna stay in this title fight, they need a 1-2 with Jenson winning and Red Bulls to clash to have a real shot at this title, If Mclaren pull another show like they did in Suzuka it is (by my rough calculations) mathematically out of reach, Soooo, its as Sir Alex Ferguson would say "Squeaky bum time"

Don't forget Bernie's stupid medals. Alonso and Vettel tied on 5 wins, 2 runner-ups, 3 thirds. The countback would have gone to fourth place. Vettel wins by one more fourth place. Crazy crap from the cunning old coot.
