Quick question.

When a car is exiting the pit lane, does only the front or the whole of the car need to cross the line before being able to turn the pit limiter off?

Also, when a car crosses the finish line, does the whole car need to cross it or just the front?

Thanks.

I believe that once the front of the car has passed the line the speed limit applies on the entrance and the same for the exit.

Depends on where the transponder is on the car.

Are you serious?

This is quite flawed.

I assume that it is the same for finishing a race?

Ya I think too that it's as soon as the front of the car crossed the line the limiter comes on/off. The same with a race finish, the front of the car.

Race finishing times are transponder dependent too.

!!!

Seriously?

That means that a team can place the transponder as far ahead as they can to get an advantage over another team!

There are like two or three spots on the car the transponder can go. If the race is close enough to bug the timing, visual evidence will prevail.

Oh, so when the transponder clears the limiter line, the car can go as fast as it wants?

Sounds right to me, Although I feel this is a question for KA about the transponders on the cars and where they can go.

Dabest, a lot of your questions seem to be almost paranoid based lol, I mean, do you watch BBC coverage of the sport or maybe get information of F1 from other means?

You attribute it to paranoia? I'd have called it something else...

I do, but there are always some questions that I don't understand.
