Tonio Liuzzi has taken a dig at his Toro Rosso replacement Sebastien Bourdais, saying that Champ Car Champion is "nothing special."

Last week it was announced that Bourdais would replace Liuzzi at the end of the season, forcing the Italian to look for a new F1 team or else a drive in a different series.

Liuzzi, though, doesn't mind the fact that he's being replaced.

"I started to look around two months ago, since I decided not to return to Toro Rosso," he said. "Many contradictory episodes happened in 2007, so I wanted to move on."

The Italian, though, does question the wisdom in Toro Rosso signing Bourdais, who thinks has done little to warrant a F1 drive in his few tests with Red Bull's junior team.

"Bourdais is no doubt a very strong driver - he won three Champ Car titles, but in the tests he made with Toro Rosso he didn't turn impressive lap times," Liuzzi told Eurosport.

He added: "He performed fairly well, but nothing special."
