The Scot will be joined at Red Bull by Australian Mark Webber and despite having had low profile partners recently Coulthard remains unfazed.
Throughout his career Coulthard has raced with all types of drivers, some fast, some inexperienced, and all that he expects is someone who will work with him to do the best for the team.
"I don't worry about who my team-mate is, I have driven with Hakkinen and Raikkonen, who are both very fast," " he told Eurosport MotorMagazin.
"It is Red Bull's job to determine the driving pairing. I respect my team-mates and want to work with them to develop the package. "
On the early release of 2006 team-mate Christian Klien the Scot was less indifferent. The Austrian left the team after an internal spat and had to be replaced for the last three races of the season. The experienced driver says such incidents reflect poorly on the team.
"It weakened us and strengthened our rivals."
