Pirelli has confirmed the construction of its tyres will remain unchanged at least until the Hungarian Grand Prix, scrapping its initial plan.

The Italian tyre manufacturer had intended to introduce its modified tyres for the Canadian Grand Prix, but then agreed to just test them in practice before a planned introduction in the British Grand Prix.

With rain hitting practice in Montreal, the plan had to be scrapped, and the company announced it would instead use a revised bonding procedure to correct the delamination issues.

Pirelli announced on Thursday the compounds for the upcoming three races, also confirming the tyre constructions will not be changed.

"This decision is due to the fact that the new tyres, which were brought to the Friday free practice sessions in Canada, could not be tested sufficiently due to rain - and that the teams failed to agree unanimously about introducing the changes," said Pirelli in a statement.

The Italian company will take the hard and medium tyres to the British Grand Prix, while it will use the medium and softs in Germany next month.

For Hungary, Pirelli will take the hards and the mediums once more.

Eh. I wanted to see the Mercedes shine sooner, but I assume this is for the best.
