Race Summary:
Melbourne race was full of surprises. It was a terrible week for the McLaren; after a bad practice and qualifying sessions, Nahle's winning chain was broken when he retired from the race in the 28th lap due to driver error, and his team mate (Mjk Khan) ended in the forth position.
Ekberg, who surprised everyone in the qualifying session by winning the pole position for Midland, showed a strong performance but his engine failed him in the 30th lap to lose a serious chance of winning the race. Nevertheless he showed a lot of potential and showed that even small teams like Midland can compete for the podium.
Renault was ressurected when Koh won the thrid position after an impressive performance, but his team mate (Watson) wasn't so lucky and he retired in the 46th lap due to a driver error. Toyota had the best car settings this weekend and deserved the 2nd and 5th positions; which earned them a lot of precious points.
Ferrari showed its power to everyone by winning the race through their team leader Matt Haffiz. Honda's performance was nothing to write home aboue.
Haffiz now has the same number of points as Nahle and Khan, Cahall and Ekberg are trailling them.
Nahle wants to show that he was just having bad luck, Haffiz wants to show that he's the best, Khan refuses to be dominated, Cahall is pushing hard and Ekberg wants to show that his strong performance wasn't just a fluke.
